What do you think of the Adrienne as a first name?

The name sounds too gender neutral for my taste. Although that spelling is deffinately feminine, if I heard someone talking about "Adrienne" I wouldn't assume it was a girl.

I like it, but I prefer it spelled Adrian, even for a girl. I blame Dawson's Creek for making me jump onto the whole "boys names for girls" bandwagon.

One of my favorites. My SO and I have considered using it but have pretty much decided that because I have a super close friend named Adrienne it would be cute but confusing.

Every time I hear the name Adrienne, I think of "The Eye of the Tiger."

I personally wouldn't use it, but I like it for a girl. NOT for a boy.

In my mind i hear it said "adri-N" not "adri-AN" so i like it, but as long as it's not pronounced like 'adrian' the male version.

I don't recall boy's names used on girls or viceversa..
Maybe Joey for Josephine?

I love it. Always have.

I like Adrian for a boy too, but I can't decide which gender I like it better on.

I may be biased, as it's my best friend's name, but I love it. I don't like Adriana, but I do also like Adrian for a boy.

I like it, but I don't pronounce it like 'Adrian'.

I prefer 'Adriana' by a lot, though.

Yeah, Joey. And in Dawson's stupid screenplay or something, wasn't the Joey character named Colby? (It is so pathetic that I still know this. Bah!)

I have no choice but to like it, since it's my name ;)

actually, I hated it as a kid because I had awkwardness with the 'r' in the middle, but everyone was always like "oh, that's a pretty name" and I wasn't sure how to respond to that.

I grew to like it as I got older, got over my pronounciation awkwardnes, and realized it's a fairly uncommon name and just a bit exotic at that. and I have to agree now with everyone who told me my whole life "that's a pretty name"!
