My husband's middle name is Anthony.
We *really* love it. We don't know if we ought to make it our "peanut's" first name, though. His middle name, maybe?
We're 6w3d pregnant. We're 99.9% positive that it's going to be a boy, though.
Help? What first names make sense if it's his middle name? What if it's his first name?
Edit #1: My husband's first name is Roy.

Date: 2008-11-27 03:23 pm (UTC)I dislike the idea of naming a kid after his father, just because it gets confusing and everything, but if you do, I like the nicknames AJ or Ant. What does your husband go by?

Date: 2008-11-27 03:23 pm (UTC)I see now that it's your husband's MIDDLE NAME, so that totally changes it. Definitely use it, then, if you love it. I like it as a first name, or as a middle.

Date: 2008-11-27 03:24 pm (UTC)I like Anthony enough for a first name, but most likely in adulthood it will be shortened to Tony (my brother Raymond, no matter how much he insists his name is NOT Ray, is always called Ray), which is kind of bleh to me. So, that said, I'd probably choose it for a middle name.
I think most names would sound fine with Anthony as a middle name.
These names came to mind:
Nicholas Anthony
Christopher Anthony
Michael Anthony

Here are some suggestions:
Ryan Anthony
Declan Anthony
Oliver Anthony
Julian Anthony
Anthony Ryan
Anthony Alexander
Anthony Steven
Anthony Taylor

Date: 2008-11-27 04:03 pm (UTC)My boyfriend is Anthony George, which I don't like, and his dad is Anthony Joseph, which I like a lot. Anthony as a middle name works well, too, and I think it would go nicely with a bunch of names. Here are just a few:
Joshua Anthony
David Anthony
Steven Anthony

Date: 2008-11-27 05:18 pm (UTC)If you both really love it, I'd say go for it and use it as a first name! It would also make a good middle name though (as is the case with your husband's name! =)). Suggestions:
Anthony Roman
Anthony Thomas
Anthony Jonah
Anthony Lawrence
Anthony William
James Anthony
Jude Anthony
Jake/Jack Anthony
Liam Anthony
Simon Anthony
Noah Anthony
Good luck!

Date: 2008-11-27 11:37 pm (UTC)If you like Anthony, then go for it.
Personally I don't care for it. I find it annoying, is it ANT-ony, or ANTH-ony? Who knows.
But hey, if you love it then use it. The family connection is a plus in my eyes.

Date: 2008-11-30 06:56 am (UTC)Anthony is nice. I don't really care for Roy. I'd say any name you'd like would work as a first name.. what do you lik3? Is there something you'd like more and rather have Anthony as a middle name?

Date: 2008-12-01 10:30 pm (UTC)In England Anthony can be pronounced ANT-ony or ANTH-ony.
In America Sara can be pronounced SAR-a or SAIR-a.
Nevermind.
