Caelin or Caelyn

hate it?

I want to honor specific women in my life.

Candice - my best friend
Mae - the middle name of my MIL and SIL
Lynn - the middle name of my other SIL and the name of my favorite aunt

So when I was thinking about it - I wanted to give my daughter a middle name to honor all of them. And that is what I came up with.

It's all cre8tive... so I am pretty sure people would make fun of it. lol.

But yeah... haha

Caelyn looks more feminine, I think.

Also - It reminds me of the song Cailin, which I like.

Caelyn is a really nice name and good way to name her after all of them. I like it with a Y. What's her first name going to be?

It's creative indeed, but I don't hate it. It's a nice way of honoring the three women you mentioned, and since it's going to be her middle name, she won't (often) have to go to the trouble of spelling her name (since it could be mistaken for Caitlin).

I hate it. It falls right along with the Braelynn Peyton Raylee Kaylee Baileigh Jaelyn stuff.

On the other hand, I'm all about middle names that have meaning or a personal connection, and as you're safely hiding it away behind something else — hey, nifty. Just please don't also give her a supertrendy first name. I think Ava Caelin would be a step too far.

Awww, that's so nice! I like it and I think it sounds like a real name. And I like the spelling Caelyn better. =)

I think it's an actual name, and I like how you made it out those other names
:)

I visually like Caelin better, but it makes me want to say it SEE-lin, for whatever reason!
Caelyn has that Celtic touch to it, and it offers the correct prn more readily (to me at least!), so I say go for that one! :)

I think there is such a name. It's just usually spelt differently. Don't know how as there are various spellings and it's not my thing.

I do like your Caelyn though because it has SO MUCH meaning. I think it's made really special that way. :)

I do agree that the 'y' spelling looks more feminine.

I don't hate it, but it definitely looks uber trendy. I would say Caelin, it just looks nicer, and moves away from the trend these days of Y's.

It's definitely creative looking...but it has meaning so that makes me not hate it. I don't care for it but these names aren't significant to me so that's why :-P

Between the two, I'd go with Caelyn.

I think it's nice for a middle name.

I think of the two, I prefer Caelyn. Though it's not my style, it's a pretty name and a nice way of honoring your friends and relatives.

Maybe I'm biased, though. My niece is named Kaelyn, because my mother's middle name is Kay and my sister's middle name is Lynn. Kaelyn's middle name is Marie, after my middle name.

i like it a lot, i think its a real name, isnt it? maybe spelled differently, i am not sure, i just feel like i have seen it before.

i prefer caelin, but i am generally not a fan of the random y. which isnt necessarily the case here, but i am kind of biased.

My friemd's little girl is called Cailin (spelt that way)
I don't mind it. She gets called Caitlin a lot and nobody knows how to spell it but as a middle name that's not so important :)

Well, normally I wouldn't like it because it looks made-up. BUT, it's going to be her middle name, which means she won't have to deal with any confusion/spelling problems. And also, I think wanting to honour women in your life is a really nice sentiment. So I would say, go for it.

If it was going to be her first name I would say no no NO, no matter how nice it is to honor three women in your life. Especially because (if your journal title refers to your other child) Caelyn + Dylan = blech.

But it's a middle name, so it's alright, I say. Still not my thing, but I don't hate it.

As a middle name, I think it's fine. As a first name, I think it'd be awful.

Candice got gipped, LOL.

I know a girl named Cailin. Everyone mistakes her for Caitlin... which I imagine is the most obnoxious thing ever. That being said... I don't really like the name or any of the spellings but it's not her first name so I'm not that horrified, LOL.

One more vote for the Caelyn spelling ;)
