Meanings are an extra bonus as far as I'm concerned, second to how they sound. I'd be kind of iffy about using a name with a realllly bad meaning (like, I dunno, "murderer" or something), or one that just fills me with distaste.
Noel is pretty. If people ask, your baby was like an early Christmas present. ;) Out-of-season seasonal names don't bother me.
