So... because I am a giant dork and I have a huge love for fantasy novels... I decided to post a few of the characters in a book series that I read, in honor of the 7th book that just came out (that I have yet to pick up, and it's driving me crazy!!)

The book series is called the Meredith Gentry series by my favorite author: Laurell K. Hamilton. If your into fantasy/fairy tales (quite literally) with a great giant splash of erotica thrown in, then I highly recommend this series.

 

Names with a * next to them are ones that I absolutely adore! If you can't help but notice... I defiantly want boys XD
Let me know what you think. Even if you don't like them. Most of the names have a Celtic/Gaelic meaning to them. I've always wanted to see what people thought of them.

I loooooove fantasy novel names. I'm such a dork for them. I don't think I'd ever use them but lovelove them anyway.


Like on your list there, Galen. I adore the name. I love how it sounds but with this day and age and so much negative stimga still surrounding the term 'gay' I wouldn't want to saddle my little boy with it. Still. Love that name.

I love Ash too. Hee! And I'm using the name Sage for a character in my nano.

The only girls' one that I like is Maeve.

I love Eamon. Owain and Galen are kind of nice too. Usna intrigues me. It sounds very Tolkienesque to me, like Elfish or something.

I think somethings in my life will have to receive a few of these names. I love them all so much. Probably ever since I started the series.
My poor children are going to be like, "Mommy, where does my name come from?" and I'm going to say "From a fantasy erotic novel, sweetie"

Nerys makes me think of the Bajoran character on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine...because I'm a Trekkie nerd like that. :)

I like Meredith, Maeve, and Tamlyn in the girls column.

Yay! A vote for Roane! It's such a pretty name. Makes me think of a Selkie when I first heard it, and turns out the character was one ^^

Yep, at the end of the 3rd book there was a pronunciation guide and it said that. Perhaps it's just something the author came up with, who knows. I like the name so much better as Dole (sounding) and not Doyle (Doy-elle), but still with the Doyle spelling. Bleh!

Funnily enough, Rozenwyn is almost Dutch: rozenwijn = rose wine. Not that it's an actual drink...but still! I thought it was interesting.
