An old friend of mine from high school just got in touch with me via myspace, he's now married with 2 kids...

a girl, Lakelyn (mn Caris) and a boy, Leyton (mn Keith).

Imagine yelling at the kids when they're in trouble, or heck, even calling them to the dinner table....I get tongue tied just trying to say them back to back. The names are kinda ok I guess, (although I'm not sure that Lakelyn is an actual name)...but I just think it's a bit much as a sibset. What do you guys think??

Those are both terrible names, and even worse combined.

I like Lakelyn, but not with a sib named Leyton (which I dont like anyway). Makes me think of 2 of our friends with Makayla and Mikayahu (pronounced Mikaya, no idea whats up with the silent letters at the end). We also have a cousin on Travy's side with a boy and a girl, Eden and Ethan, which are also way to similar for my liking.

I would have liked Layton.. and something else for his sister.
Lakelyn is just ridiculously made up.

Horrible names, neither of that are legitimate names.

Caris is so close, had it been Charis or Carys that would have made up slightly.

Lakelyn is awful. Oh, that's just bad. I really like Leyton, but not that particular spelling.

There's a place in Florida called Lakeland so that's what I think of with the girl's name. Since people use place names and I associate it with one, it's not so bad to me. Caris isn't my thing, but it's nice. I don't know how I feel about Leyton. I don't like the spelling; I'm pretty sure of that. I knew a boy named Leighton in high school; it would be pronounced the same. The combinations sound okay enough on their own, but together it is definitely a bit much. I think they could be difficult to distinguished when being yelled across the house.

OUCH. Leyton looks like an incredible typo to me, considering that my Dad and brother are both LAYTON.

Lakelyn I'm not crazy about either. Kinda a spin off of Lakin I guess?
