Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) and Mark Griffiths just welcomed son, Felix.

Their other children are Oscar and Piper (Gillian's daughter from her first marriage).

My thoughts: I adore Felix and Oscar. Piper is one of the better celebrity baby names, and considering how . . . different Gillian Anderson is, it's quite mainstream.

I am pretty sure that when we have kids, my SO and I are going to be using Felix. It's pretty much both of our favorite name. I don't like Oscar, and Piper is okay. Felix is really my favorite there.

Well, keep in mind that Piper is a LOT older than the other two - she turned 14 last month, while Oscar is not yet two. I suppose people's name-tastes change with age.

Besides which, we're not giving either father any credit for the names - maybe Piper, Oscar and Felix were named by their fathers? They must have had some input, anyway, which would go a long way to explain why they don't 'go' together. Not that that actually matters.

Oscar and Felix go reasonably well together, even though I'm not fond of either of them. It's odd to me that Piper is actually older than the others, it feels like a much more current/trendy name, whereas the other two are more old-fashioned.

I don't expect siblings' names to *match* or anything, but you don't usually see tastes changing THAT much (in my experience). Like it would seem really odd to see Gertrude and Destiny as a sibset. (Piper/Oscar/Felix is obviously not nearly as extreme, but you get my point).

Then i just have to be the nerd of the century and tell you that my top names are william and samantha. it really has very little to do with paying homage to the show. i just like those names. :)
