I am not pregnant, nor are we trying (although I REALLY wish we were!) but my husband and I were talking about possible girl names. We have different tastes when it comes to names. He likes Amber, Tiffany, Emma...I like Madeline, Abigail, Lilianna, Ella...not too out there. He hates all of my names that I love!! He does like the name Lily which would be the nn for Lilianna. I just dont' like many of the full names that Lily would be a nn for. I'm not a huge fan of his names either...He did mentioned Cadence. As of right now, I am not sure about this name. It sounds pretty...what do you guys think?

His names are too plain for my taste. I like Lilianna and Ella a lot. Cadence is pretty :)

I grew up next door to a little girl who thought all the food we ate was weird. Pasta al pesto? Eww! Goulash? Crazy! Zucchini bread? HEAVEN FORBID! Many steps too far!

We always had to keep peanut butter and jelly on hand for her, because we knew that anything remotely interesting, piquant, zesty and worth noticing would repulse her. Peanut butter, jelly, white bread, crusts cut off.

I think she would like all of these names.

I like Ella (although it's ridiculously trendy) and I think Cadence is alright. Actually, the think I like most about that name is that you can shorten it to Cady.

It ranked #21 in 2007 (http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi)...so I suppose it makes sense that you never met anyone with that name yet, since all the kids called Ella are babies/toddlers =) I still think it's a really nice name though.

There's nothing wrong with liking common things, be that names, peanut butter and jelly, or whatever other category. The reason common names are common is because more people like them, obviously.

And you could do a lot worse than uninteresting, that's for sure.

Amber/Tiffany are really dated. =/ I don't mind Emma despite the trendiness. I like Ella as a nickname; it seems incomplete by itself (I think I suggested Gabriella to you before, but Ellen/Eleanor could also work). I like Abigail and Lilianna, although I prefer Lillian; Lilianna is a bit over the top for me. Cadence is my favorite of your names, and I love Cady.

Also, Lily could be a nn for Elizabeth, too.

Suggestions:

Claire
Caroline
Hannah
Audrey
Sadie
Annelise
Lucy
Katrina
Violet
Lydia
Leah
Brooke

Tiffany and Amber just scream eighties to me. Emma is so plain and overused. And I kind of have the same opinion for all of your names too. I hate anything with Lil, including just plain Lily. Cadence and Abigail are probably the prettiest to me.

My husband and I are considering Cadence as a name very seriously. We have decided if we use it, we'd use Cadie as a nn. :D

In my opinion, Cadence is tacky, right up there with Serenity. Some of the modern virtue names are awful. If you like Cadence, then try Blythe/Blithe, Constance, or Honor. They carry the same vibe without the tryndee factor.

I like Lilianna. Not so much Lily, but that's simply a matter of my own personal taste.
