Oct. 5th, 2008 06:17 pmAm somewhat bored and have decided to work out the most popular names on this forum...
So, if you would be so kind:
Post your top three girls names and top three boys names... please include first and middle and possible nicknames. If possible, please post names you are most likely to use on a baby in the future.
I endeavour to post a summary sometime soon.
PS If you would like to comment on other poster's choices, please feel free to do so!!

Date: 2008-10-05 08:23 am (UTC)Etta Katherine (Et, Etta Betta, etc.)
Alice Paige (Lissie, mostly just Alice.)
Benoit Irving (Ben, Benno, Benny)
Benjamin Ezra (Ben, Benno, Benny)
Nicholas Guy (Nicholas is my dad's name, so we'd call him Guy)
(Our alternate/veto names are Agnes and August.)
I have a much harder time with boy names. All the middle names are strictly family names, except for Guy which is our wedding date and one of the only names we can agree on for boys. For girls, Mathilde will be the one we will go with first, and for boys, I'm stumped. If not Guy, then some form of Ben, but we can't pick between Benoit or Benjamin. :)

We're planning to use up to the first two of each. (She wants three kids, I want four, but since she's the one who's going to pop them out, she gets final say. We have a failsafe--Elliot Shea--if there are three boys, but are in trouble if there are three girls.) Gary and Arthur are both family names; Shea, Elliot, Anna, Delta, and Lorraine are for family or very important friends. Shea and Elliot are, amusingly enough, for our male best friends.

Middle names hold special significance to me. Also, I am a little drunk right now so I might be totally wrong that these are my favoureite names, but right now I'll say they're my favourite because I do love them. Last name would be Schulz.

Benjamin David--Ben (may use 3rd middle, but can't think of one)
Amelia May Nicole--Mia, Millie (and maybe, because I think it's very adorable right now--Millie May). :)

I just found out that I'm pregnant on Monday and the boyfriend and I haven't even discussed names so who knows if he'll go for any of these. Also, I changed the list of names about a million times just now, so don't be surprised if my child turns out to be named something completely different.
That said...
I love Anna because a) his mother's name is Rexanna, b) my mother's name is Tina (same number of syllables and last two letters), and c) my closest cousin's name is Amanda (similar sound). It'll be hard for him to talk me out of that name.
I'd also like to use the name Raymond because it's my grandfather's name and my younger brother's name.
Marie is my mother's middle name, so I intend to use it someday.
