[identity profile] smallandneedy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Ok, so, I don't know if you're familiar with royal families and such, but the daughter of the Norwegian king (she doesn't have a title anymore as she married "a commoner") just had her third baby girl yesterday. They named her Emma Tallulah.
I'm officially ashamed of being a norwegian citizen (ok, maybe not really) But seriously. Tallulah? yikes.

The big sisters of this little baby with the hideous name (sorry) is Maud Angelica and Leah Isadora. I remember when Maud Angelica was born I was so pissed off that they gave her the name Angelica, because that was one of my favorite names at the time and I absolutely detest the royal family.

No offence if anyone actually likes the name, but I personally find it extremely hideous and had to come here to tell you guys.

I really like Leah Isadora!

I think Maud Angelica and Emma Tallulah are both ok, but definitely not my style.

I will never see the appeal of Tallulah, it just sounds like something a baby learning its first words would 'say'. I hope that makes sense.

Also, Tallulah means 'wart' in Arabic.

i don't think any of the names are that bad. in fact, my least favorite of the bunch is probably angelica. =/

Maud Angelica is worse. Leah Isadora doesn't flow at all, but Isadora leah sounds lovely.

Emma Tallulah is pretty flouncy, you'd never see that on a British royal.

I have always detested (not even hated, but destested) the name Tallulah... I actually like Maud Anglica and Leah Isadora. I would never use Maud though, the other ones are ok in my book =)

I like Talulla "From the Gaelic name Tuilelaith, which was derived from Irish tuile "abundance" and flaith "princess"." My name Sarah means princess in Hebrew, so it would be nice for my future daughter's name to have a similar meaning. Interestingly Talulla has a totally different meaning from Tallulah, thanks for inspiring me to look this up as I originally assumed they were just different spellings of the same name.

I don't think any of those names really flow, that's my only problem. I'm not a big fan of Tallulah, but Isadora is one of my favorite names!

Ugh, Tallulah .. it sounds like such a joke name, like something that's not even a name. I like Emma, though, despite its popularity.

I don't like Maud, but I like Angelica. I love Isadora, and Leah is fine on its own, but I don't like them together.

I dunno. I like Tallulah in theory but it's getting a bit too trendy for me. It's the Emma bit I can't stomach. Overplayed a teensy bit!

I have never liked Tallulah. It's just so Southern Belle to me. I can only say it with a bad, Southern accent. Emma Tallulah is not as bad as Maud Angelica though, to me. Leah Isadora is pretty.

At least it's not Talulah Does the Hula. ;)

I'm with those who like it in theory (it's cute, and I love Lulu as a nn), but I don't think it works on a real child. Maybe a character...

Although I've gotta say, it's way better than Maud Angelica. None of these names flow at all, especially that one. =/

I really love all of the first names, but I'm not fond of any of the middle names.

Emma and Leah sound really good together, but I think Maud sounds kind of odd as a part of that sibset.

I hate all of the girls names. I think it would have been nice if the names were like, more Norwegian? There are so many lovely Norwegian names. I read that Leah's name was inspired by Princess Leia from Star Wars... Well I guess Märtha Louise is a bit of a nut job anyway so we shouldn't be surprised of some weird ass names coming from her :>)
