And figured out a couple of names he likes.  We've basically come up with a boys name, Sean Michael.  Yes, boring, but classic.  I seem to like classic names that never really go out of style (i.e. can only be considered for a certain age range).  We have 3 girls names, but the only middle name I can come up with is Marie (it's my middle name, hence the consideration of it).  The three girl names we have are Lillian, Katherine, and Elizabeth.  Now, I would love to use Rose as a middle name as it was my grandmother's middle name, but DH says it is too much of an artsy-fartsy name.  Can any of you lovely people help me come up with some middle names to bring to the table?

Personally, since Rose is a family name and important to you, I would say keep trying to get your husband to warm up to it. Point out that it's just a middle name, so it's not like you're going to be calling her Rose all the time.

I'm also a big fan of the "I'm carrying the baby, so my opinion has a lot of weight" arguement.

...O.O I don't see how the heck Rose is "artsy-fartsy." Has he seen what some people name their kids? All your names are incredibly traditional, including that one. If you're stuck on Rose, show him this site (http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=ROSE&ms=false&sw=f&exact=true) and point out how classic it is. It's always been very popular, although it's less so now.

I prefer it spelled Shawn and Elizabeth bores me a bit, but other than that I like all your names.

I really hate to do this to you (since you're already decided on your boys name), but I just want you to know (and maybe you already do and you don't care or don't think it will be a problem) but when I heard Sean Michael I immediately thought of the wrestler, Shawn Michaels....and then after googling, it seems Sean Michaels is a pornography star. Just thought you should know!

I do like the name Sean Michael, though. I think Michael Sean sounds nice, too.
