So I brought up Nola here, but my question is, if Nola wasn't going to be the fn, what could Nola be a nn for?

And go, again. :)

[PS - if you want to comment on the dislikingment of it, use this one instead. Ty!]

I think Nola stands just fine on its own.

All I can think of is Canola. Oil.

I always loved the name Nola. I think of it as a sexier version of Norah. (But then again, I had a grandmother named Nola and I love Woody Allen, so I kind of have to love it. :)

Also, I think it is a HUGE improvement over the name Nolan for a boy, which always sounded wimpy to me.

I like it as a stand alone name only, not short for anything.

Winola - meaning=charming friend nn Winnie or Nola?
Not exact but...
Magnolia - meaning=flower nn Maggie, Lia/Lea, Nola?

I think Nola would be a great nickname for Finola. The name is a variant of a Gaelic or Celtic name, if I'm not mistaken.

Nicole? Perhaps a stretch, but it could work.

i dont like it, but i think its fine as its own name. i dont see it as needing an extended version just so you can nickname it.

I think it works fine alone. As opposed to Nora/h which I like much better as a nickname for Eleanor.

You might be able to get away with Eleanor if you wanted to, come to think of it.
