Sep. 20th, 2008 11:08 pmOkay I need some help. I'm trying to name the daughter of two characters for a fanfic. The little girl will be born in Hawaii and her father is from there and very into it's culture, so I wanted to choose a Hawaiian name. I'm horrible at choosing names for characters and I was hoping that you guys would be willing to help me.
Here are some Hawaiian girls names I like with their meanings:
Anela "angel"
Ilima "flower" or "flower of Oahu"
Kai "sea"
Kalena "pure"
Kanani "beautiful"
Lani "heaven or sky"
Malia "clam"
Ani "beautiful"
Kalea "bright; clear"
Kamea "one and only; precious"
Keilana "gloriously clam"
Mirena "beloved"
Nalani "clam as the heavens"
Nani "beauiful"
Olina "filled with happiness"
Roselani "heavenly rose"
Her last name will be Gains and her parents are Chris and Val. The middle name will probably be more "mainlandish". Her father is also fluent in Japanese so a Japanese name is also a possibility.
Thanks for your help!

My cousin is named Malia, and I've always loved it. I also love Noelani (means "heavenly mist"), and Mahealani (which means something along the lines of "night of the full moon").
