[identity profile] miss--nikki.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
OK, so since my husband and I wanted a baby girl wishfully thinking we only picked girl names. (I have the hardest time with boy names.) Well, as some of you may know we found out on March 13th that we are expecting Twin Boys! Not only do I have to think of now TWO boy names, I really need FOUR! (First and middle.) So, I will list what I have in mind so far, but if ANYONE has any suggestions OR what would you guys name twins if you had them??? PLEASE PLEASE help us! Luckily they aren't due until August, because I swear they would be born Baby A, and Baby B if there were to come any sooner lol! Thanks!

Our name list thus far:
Luke Asa Martin (Asa is my husband's Great Gradnfather)
Connor James Martin (James is my Grandfather)

Timothy Jason "TJ" (my husband)
Connor James "CJ" (I like Connor, and James is my G'pa)

Asa Luke Martin
Ace or Ash Connor Martin

My husband wants their names to have the same initials, I want them to have similar (not rhyming) names. I'm soooo hopeless... I have no idea. Luke & Connor are my fave so far, but my husband isn't so fond of Luke that is why I suggested naming one after him, my husband, and the other Connor James. Actually I'm not hopeless, my husband is. he is NOOO help.

I like
Joseph
Brett
Brent
Mike
Hayden/Cayden
Caleb (a little too popular atm)
Taylan
Talan
there's a million more that I can't think of right now.

What I am looking for is a not so plain name, not so popular, but strong. If that makes ANY sense.

Connor is my son's name so I obviously love that :) But I like Dylan or Landon and also Joseph from your list. My husband is funny about one boy being named after the father and not the other kids. So for my son his middle name is Davis (son of David, my husband's name). And if we have any more boy's they will also have the middle name of Davis. I think he resents his brother being named after their father... So maybe use both Grandfather's names for middle names or do it how you suggested :) All the names you listed are very nice, good luck!

I like the idea of them having the same intials, and since I really like "Connor James"...

Cameron
Carter
Chance
Casey
Chase
Ciaran
Clay
Cody
Coby
Colby
Cohen
Conley
Corey
Cruz

I personally think: Connor & Conley, Connor & Carter, Connor & Cohen are my favorite...

& "J" middle names:

Jade
Jace
Jared
Jesse
Jonah
Joshua
Julian

I like, Conley Jade, Chase Joshua, Colby Jace ....
(I'm not really fond of "J" names, but "C" names are great!)

Congrats on the baby boys, hope you figure everything out OK. :)!

I actually love the name Luke/Lukas. I forgot to add it in my entry a few down.

I also like Tyler. Its not so popular that there's a thousand of them, but its a good, strong name.

I don't think you should name the twins too similar. I like different names for twins better since they are two individuals and not only twins.

My fav boy names are:

David
Christopher
Max
Jacob
Tyler

So since your boyfriend wants them to have the same initals you could use Connor James and Christopher Jacob/Jack.
Connor and Christopher are not similar but have the same first letter.. and I like the nickname Chris.

I love Connor James, it's actually one of the names on my list! As a twin, I just want to say, please don't give your twins similar names. My name is Kari and my twin sister's is Kristen, which isn't too similar, but just the matchy-ness of the two K's is way too cutesy for me. The same initials (ie: Connor James and Christopher Jacob as suggested above) is just way too much, imo. I think you should give them completely different, individual names. I love Connor and Luke. :)

Logan? I like that a lot.
I don't like the idea of the same initals..maybe because when they're a little older and they get letters addressed to C. J Lastname how are they going to know who it's for?
Btw i really like Cayden too, and also Talan but i like it spelt Tallon. Good luck :)

I loooooove the name Asa. Old fashioned, but not overused. Naming one boy Asa and the other Ash would be really cute, and they're both nice names to grow into that don't sound too similar.

"TJ" and "CJ" would be way to cheesy, IMO.

I'm making a long list to give you :)

I don't think those are too similar at all, since one uses the short A and the other a long A, with a different number of sylables and ending sounds. They look nice together on paper, but when you call across the house for one boy, they'll know which one you're looking for!

wow! what a surprise! congratulations. are there any other sets of twins in your family?
i personally don't like the whole TJ and CJ thing. i would much rather call someone by their first name. i do like connor james though. plus, if you want a strong name, connor is perfect. it means "strong willed".

some suggestions instead of luke:
jonas
luca
lucas
thomas (actually means "a twin")
tobias (nickname could be toby)

some suggestions for names similar to connor:
allister
cade
camden
cameron
carson
carter
cody
cole
cooper
corey
hunter
jasper
kane
kieran
kyle
kyler
parker
porter
ryder
schuyler
spencer
tanner
trevor

other suggestions:
asher
brody (means "brother")
chase
dashiell - nickname could be dash ("page boy")
dryden
drew (means "manly and courageous")
ehren
ethan (means "firm, strong")
holden
kellen
kyan
landon
maxwell - nickname could be max
quinlan (means "very strong")
sebastian
tyler

let us know what you pick! :)

Oh my gosh, this sounds like so much fun!! I'm serious, I love boy names (actually better than girl names).

Connor is my favorite boys name of all time, and I've actually thought about the name Connor James before. So I'm all for Connor James. Luke is the name of the supporting hero in my story, so I love the name Luke also. I think Connor & Luke sound good together.

Combos I like:
Tyler Asa Martin
Tyler Joseph Martin

Connor James Martin
Connor Joseph Martin
Connor Ace Martin

Charles Asa Martin (Chad for short?)
Ace Connor Martin
Ash Connor Martin
Joseph Andrew Martin

Jett
Colin
Cooper
Lathan (Like Nathan except “lay”)
Logan
Morgan
Seth
Troy
Wesley
Wyatt
Owen
Seth
Patrick
Blake
Richard

Random stuff:
We have friends with the last name Martin and they named their new baby Dash. Dash is the kind of name that you like or despise, but I think it sounds AWESOME with the last name Martin.

I know a sibling set named Cooper & Carter and I think that sounds good together.

If I were having twin boys (without consulting my boyfriend for his opinions) I’d name them Connor & Logan, but I’d have to think about middle names. I really like Logan Miles, but besides that I don’t know.

Congratulations!!
I like that you are using family names as middle names :)

Sorry but I really hate the TJ & CJ idea, it's just so tacky. Also, I think a child deserves their own idnividual name, rather than being names after his father. By all means use Timothy as a middle name, but not as a first name. IMO.

What about Ash James (or Asher James) and Connor Timothy?

If I had twin boys I would probably call them Ezra James and Kai Alexander (middle names are family names).

oh, so if i had twin boys (oh my god dont even get me started!) i would name them:

oliver gray
max steven, or max seaford (the jury is still out on which of those two middles we are going to choose)

luca snow is a particular favorite of mine, but my boy despises it. just for the record. :)

Congratulation, twin boys;; what a surprise!

I wouldnt name one after your husband, because the other one might feel left out :-(

Luke Asa Martin Connor James Martin- I love this combo, although i definetly prefer Lucas.

Timothy Jason "TJ" Connor James "CJ"- They'll rhyme & that is really kind of cliche, IMO.

If i had twin boys i'd call them Ethan Joshua & Lucas Alexander (im english & ethan isnt as popular over here)

i think names that have the same syllables are cute for twins;

Asa & Connor
Caden & Connor
Lucas & Connor

Joseph is a great middle name for practically any name.

I agree, I've always thought that people should avoid giving their kids the same initials as themselves or each other for that very reason - they essentially have the same name once it's been abbreviated and that becomes very confusing.

thanks so much. oliver is one of our two top choices, and we are going to have meaningful middle names for all of our kids. gray was my mothers middle name. i dont like the fact that its starting to become a trendy middle name, because ive had it picked out forever and everyone is using grey, which is the color, which i think is kind of funny (im mean, i guess). steven is my boys fathers name, who died recently, and seaford is the town his father grew up in, which is a place that really held a lot of meaning for him, that one was the boys idea. anyway, that was longwinded, but thank you!

ps: oh i love corgis! rip to your oliver. :)
