Anybody feel like "working" as my personal baby naming consultant? Okay, that sounds crazy, I know. If you wanted to work it as a trade for some non-money-using service that I can help you with too, that'd be great. Or just help me out from the goodness of your heart :)

I have no need to feel so desperate; I'm not due until March. But we just don't like any names enough so far. We're along the "classic" lines of things with names like James topping our terribly short list, but I just haven't been able to fall in love with anything. We've browsed online, poured over books at various shops, and talked with family members for ideas too. And nothing.

I think it would be awesome to be able to bounce ideas off of someone that loves names and has a good bank of ideas and can respond personally to "no, I have a creepy uncle named that," or some such, y'know? So, while this sounds totally crazy, I thought I'd throw it out there. If you're game, post a comment and we can exchange email addresses or whatever. Thanks!

I've studied names for 15 years. I used to have a website but it crashed and I never repaired it. I've done the baby name service thing before, and would be happy to help. No payment necessary, but I'm involved in several charities if you feel like contributing to one of those in some way. But again, no pressure. Let's talk names. :)

I've posted some crazy out there ideas, but I'm deep-rooted in the classics. I'm an author and have spent hours pouring over the perfect/right name for a character, and helped my cousins pick out William (4 months) and Audrey (almost 2). I'd love to help if I can, and I can't see any need for reimbursment (spelling?) besides a communicated gratitude (in short, a simple 'thank you' will suffice...IF I'm actually helpful lol).

it always freaks me out when people have a "short list" or names. I have one boys name and nothing for a girl, im due in a week. omg. *sighs* if i have a girl, it will be one of those women who grow up and are still called "baby" *laughs*. good luck!
