I actually like the name Anastasia, because of the story of the princess, but because it's really only for the meaning, I'd only use it as a middle name. I can't really think of a good middle name, but to me, I think it would sound best with a one-syllable name. Anastasia is so long and dramatic, you really wouldn't need much more.
I like Anastasia or Anastasiya and I only like it pronounced Anna-Stah-See-Ah, at which point its so long that only a one or two syllable name would work.
My father wanted to name me Anastasia, and we considered it for the current little critter. But I like the Ukranian pronounciation (An-a-STAZ-ee-a, and hubby didn't like it with our last name.
I love it though.
As far as middle names, we like Anastasia Ilona, which is just so very Byzantine.
I LOVE the name. My baby daughter's name is Anastasia Sophia. Her nickname is Ana. Everyone always oohs and ahs over the name. The name, in my opinion, needs a middle name that can hold it's own.
I love Anastasia and I always have; it's been my favorite girls' name for as long as I can remember. I like some of the others' suggestions (Anastasia Celeste, Anastasia Naomi, Anastasia Theodora, Anastasia Camille/Anastasia Camilla, Anastasia Elizabeth). With Anastasia, I think it's best to stay with a classic name spelled the traditional way, because the name is so regal that something on the simple, filler, and/or modern side of the spectrum would be a disgrace to the name.
