Okay, so, I just figured I'd post an updated favoritenameslist for the heck of it. From most liked to least. (Although, that's not really saying much, because I really like them all!)

Girls:

01. Elinor August/Susannah. With Elinor, I vacillate between Elinor and Elena, which is really just a shortened version of Elinor. But I lovelovelove the look/spelling/feel of Elinor. Maybe she could just go by Elena, well, both, but it be just a shortened casual version? haha, I think to much! August is just so pretty! And Susannah sounds so beautiful to me.

02. Joannah Belle. I lovelove the H at the end of Joannah, I just think it gives it a nice finish, and it's not to weird or trendy or whatever. Joanne was my mothers moms name and Bell was part of my fathers mothers name, so I think that's pretty cool.

03. Amelia Rosalind. May go by Rosalind? I've always loved Amelia, but I just recently fallen in love with Rosalind. I think it's so classy. I think Amelia Rosalind sounds better than Rosalind Amelia, I'm not sure why. ahah.

04. Mathilda Katharine. I think Mathilda is a beautiful name, and I don't associate it with the movie, so that's good. Same with Katharine. It's so classic and just feminine.

05. Esther Susannah. I've always loved the name Esther, I love the bible story of Esther. So yeah.

06. Rosalind Mae/Margaret. I love Mae, although I think it's a little short. I think Margaret is pretty and very Jane Austen-y. ahha.

Boys:

01. Henry Oliver. I think Henry is a beautiful, stable name, and I've always loved Oliver. I think it's a great boys name.

02. Oliver Charles/Wyatt. Charles was my grandfathers name. Wyatt sounds rugged and manly to me, it kind of sets off Oliver, which some people may say sounds wimpy (see: my mother.)

03. Sebastien Finn/Tomas. Since I was little, I've loved Sebastien. And I like it with the e instead of the a. I don't know why. hahaha. Same with Finn! I think it's so cute for a guy. And Tomas is just a random name I heard one day and liked.

04. Jasper Charles. Jasper sounds so..smart and..oldsoulish to me. ahhaha. I just think it's pretty.

05. Sheppard Jackson. Same with Sheppard! And I just like Jackson a lot.

So, Comments or whatever? hahah, I went into a lot of detail, it's late and I'm bored. I'm pretty stuck on the spellings, so that's not going to change much. haha. Of course, I'm not pregnant, and don't plan on being any time soon, but I just adore names, I think I'd have kids just to name them. ahhaha. And the Name/Name thing is just that I like to different middle names with that particular name, but don't know which one i like better.

Okay, bye!

I think we have similar tastes. The only name I hate on your list is Mathilda.

Joannah looks odd to me with the one h on the end - I think it should be either Joanna or Johannah.

Sheppard Jackson sounds like two last names. Also, Sheppard will get misspelled a lot.

Sebastian (spelled this way - I think the e only works if you're French) is on my shortlist. Nice.

I would never use Oliver Wyatt myself, but I think it's an awesome combination. Love it! (Lots better than Oliver Charles, which sounds stuck up.)

And one final rave: I, too, love, love LOVE Esther!!! There aren't many of us out there! The nickname Esti (the traditional Hebrew nn) is wonderful, and it's gorgeous with Susannah. My family would never stand for Esther as a first name, but when I have a daughter I really want her name to be Hanna Esther - Hanna after my late grandma. Another combo of biblical heroines, just like Esther Susannah :)

ESTHER LOVERS UNITE! Anyone else out there?

i agree with the commenter above on everything except esther, it's just not my taste. You have a very nice selection of names tho. ^_^

I really hate the spelling of Elinor. It just looks unfinished to me, and Eleanor looks so much better. Joannah Belle is really pretty, as is Amelia Rosalind. :) I hate Sebastien, especially with Finn as a middle name. I also don't like Sheppard or Jasper. Jasper sounds like a name for a puppy, not a person. And Sheppard is a last name. Overall, though, I like your style.

i like most of them, i may comment more later, but i just wanted to say that my boy had a close friend growing up named jasper and everyone called him jazz. ive always thought that was the cutest nickname ever and almost reason enough to justify naming a kid jasper.

If Jane Austen or Charlotte Bronte used it? then its a good name, in my book :)

I have toyed with using Elinor as middle name, using that spelling.... Paige Elinor/Elisabeth.

I've found a tricky way to use Eyre... My ancestors from ireland were had the name Ayres in their guys names. Think my husband would get it if I suggested Colin Ayres, that I really was thinking (Jane) Eyre? heehee. methinks he is not that clever :)

1. I love Elinor, too, also for the Jane Austen connection. ;D Personally, for a middle name, I'd go with Susannah, which I think is lovely.
2. I don't know how I feel about the h at the end of Joanna. It looks kind of odd to me. I much prefer the spelling Johanna. But Belle is nice.
3. Why doesn't Rosalind Amelia sound good? I sort of like Rosalind better as the first name there. I think it works! And Rosalind is a gorgeous name.
4. Katharine is one of my favorite names (maybe not that spelling, but yes for the name). Mathilda I'm kind of on the fence about.
5. I like it. Old fashioned, yes, but I see that as a good thing. And good Biblical role models. ^^
6. Sense and Sensibility is your favorite Austen novel, isn't it? This is like me wanting to name my children Elizabeth, Katherine and Lydia. ;D Again, I love Rosalind and I think either middle name works.

Boys:
I like Henry Oliver and Oliver Charles. I think Oliver is a good name, why does your mom think it's wimpy? The rest of the boys names, I can't say I'm too crazy about. They strike me as kind of last-namey, and I'm not too fond of that trend. And Sheppard reminds me of this one guy who's on Fox News and he sort of bothers me.

01. Elinor August/Susannah. I definitely like Elinor Susannah better than Elinor August but both are fine. I like Elinor better than Elena.

02. Joannah Belle. Like it.

03. Amelia Rosalind. Rosalina Amelia sounds fine to me.

04. Mathilda Katharine. I'd spell it Matilda Katherine, because the TH in Matilda sounds like T and the TH in Katherine sounds like "th." Plus, the double-th in the name as a whole looks weird.

05. Esther Susannah. Waay too biblical sounding. I like both of the names, but not together.

06. Rosalind Mae/Margaret. Margaret and Mae are both nice but not with Rosalind. They don't flow.

Boys:

01. Henry Oliver. It is a great boy's name.

02. Oliver Charles/Wyatt. Oliver Charles sounds better.

03. Sebastien Finn/Tomas. Don't like it at all.

04. Jasper Charles. Don't like it.

05. Sheppard Jackson. I don't like the last names as first names trend...unless Sheppard was your last name.

I love it! It's a gorgeous name. I think the H works well on it.

Heh, see, Rosalind Amelia sounded better to me than Amelia Rosalind. Although both are nice. :)

That is a good one. Emma Thompson is totally my hero. But, I have to say, Pride and Prejudice will always be my favorite. Persuasion is a close second, though. ^^

Lol, well, mothers can say silly things sometimes. XD

The only names i like are Amelia & Belle.. but i prefer bella.
Joannah Belle sounds like Jo and a bell, which is kind of silly, IMO.

I like Henry & i love Sebastian Finn.
