So, I was flipping through the channels and saw an Olympic swimmer named Jessicah. I don't like the name Jessica to begin with, but I think that the H is completely unnecessary. As well, when I was watching television I saw a teenage girl named Dar-C. Ew.

I dislike Jessica anyway and Jessicah just makes me want to cough when I pronounce it like I have phlegm in my throat. :/

Dar-C? I wonder if that is her real name or how she spells it herself.

As a "product" of the 80's, I know/have known wayyyyyyy too many Jessicas for me to ever be able to use it on any of my children, but I like it. (Though that spelling is just ick.)

And Dar-C? The hell? I hate "kre8tyv" spellings anyway, but that is one of the worst.

I'm a Jessica, and I don't understand the h at the end. I mean, what? Then again, maybe they did it so she'd stand out. My dad told me that in 1981 he thought 'Jessica' was rare. I proved him wrong thanks to that social security name website thing. And he's saying this as John the third in the family. That said, I go by Jess or Jesi a lot. Jess is for people I give permission, while Jesi is even more select.

I don't mind the name Jessica, as one of my best friends is named that, but the 'h' at the end does seem unnecessary.

And as for Dar-C, it reminds me of a girl I know named K'Sara, which I've never heard before or since.

Wow, I really prefer the h on names like Sara(h) Nora(h), but Jessicah is just terrible, even worse than Jessikah. I also don't care for the name Jessica.

I agree that this is especially bad as far as kre8tyv spellings go. I think this type of hyphenation and also apostrophes in names are so unfeminine as well.
