At my doctor's today the woman asked if I preferred to be called Sam or Samantha. Then she said, "I just ask that because I hate my real name. Everyone calls me Ebbie, but my real name's Isabella." She had an Irish accent so she could have meant Ibby. 

But either way, WDYT of this nn's for Isabella? I've never heard of them, and I like them. They're different than the typical Izzy or Bella. Which I like Izzy better, too. I hate Bella. It's too cliche.

I love Izzy for Isabella. I hate both Isa (most frequent in italian, for example) and Bella (which is the word for "beautiful" in italian, so it's silly).

The other nn I can think of that I wouldn't hate is Sab or Sabbie.

I've heard of Ibby for Isabel. I don't mind it. I like it better than Izzy, anyway, which I really don't like. I don't really like Bella, either, but Bell(e) is pretty nice.

UGH - I *hate* Izzy. I think it sounds so ugly. My daughter was almost an Isabelle and my brother said he would always call her Izzy just to fuck with me.

bella is suchhh a common name in south florida, so i hate all names that have it in it.. but i LOVEEEE Izzy.
i was at disney and i heard a little boy calling his sister izzy and i fell in love with it :)

Ebbie reminds me of that Susan Lucci Christmas movie on Lifetime (which no one will probably even know about :-P ). Her name was Elizabeth on that movie though and it was about a female Scrooge.

Belle is nice. Bella is okay, but it's kind of borderline cute and trashy.

I like Izzie or Belle. I HATE Bella (makes me think of those horrendous Twilight novels), but Belle is sweet and makes me think of Beauty and the Beast.
