So I was watching Tuck Everlasting last night and I fell in love with the name:

Winnie

It's short for Winifred, but I hate that name and only like the NN.

WDYT?

I think it's okay, if you're one for old fashioned names. It reminds me of Winnie the Pooh.

I think I love that movie and the novel is one of my all time favorites as well. If you've not read it, it is a MUST! The movie strays a bit from the book but they are both lovely.

PS: Winnie is great but most people this gen would associate Winnie the Pooh.

I think of Winnie the Pooh (who is a boy) or Winnie Cooper. But I love Tuck Everlasting too so I can see where your coming from. I always had a love of the name Jesse honestly because of that book. :)

All I think of is Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years.

Surprising, I didn't think of Winnie the Pooh at all. Maybe you could use Wednesday as a full name, and Winnie as a nn?

It's kinda cute as a nn, but never as a given name, sorry!

Also makes me think of the Pooh and horses.

I love the nickname Winnie. It reminds me of "The Wonder Years," Pat of Silver Bush, and Tuck Everlasting, the first place I heard the name. They're all good associations, and Pooh Bear never enters into it for me. But then, I never watched the show or had any interest in the characters.

I find Winifred a bit stiff, so I'd use it as a nickname for Winter.

Winifred with the nick name Winnie is on my list for sures because of Tuck Everlasting aswell, I think I originally only liked Winnie aswell but Winifred grew on me, plus it gives her something to go by if she needs to sound more formal later
