Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Sheila, middle name Marie - they mean 'blind' and 'bitter' , isn't that nice.  In my mother's defense they didn't have baby name books much back then. I think I'm somewhat older than most of the members of this community - I'm 42 - most of you seem like you are just having children or are looking forward to it sometime in the future. I've always been interested in names though so here I am. I have three children, 20, 17 and 15. They are

Cassandra Meghan Grace - she hates being called Cassie (if she had been a boy - Evan Lyle Brady)

Daniel Elliot Marcus - he lets people call him Dan which I really don't like, only Daniel for me

Gina May Rhiannon - she thinks her first name is too plain, doesn't really love Rhiannon and oddly thinks that May is the best one

If I were just starting to have kids now there's a very good chance I would go with completely different names. A few of my favorites just off the top of my head right now for boys - Julian, Isaac, Emmerson - and for girls - Calliope, Anikka, Lydia

Cassandra, my 20 year old is expecting a baby at the end of this month. She doesn't know the gender as yet but everyone, including myself, is convinced it's a boy. She's pretty much decided on the name Caleb for a boy which I love. Possibly going with Everett for the middle name. For a girl the only one she had picked out at one time was Mina. I like it but no one else did so I don't think she will go with it if somehow we are all wrong about the baby's sex.

I really like your taste in names, except for Rhiannon, which I hate. The rest are nice, and I really like the way Daniel Elliot Marcus sounds. I don't like Dan, either, but I do like Danny a lot.

Of the ones you like now, I love Julian, Isaac, and Emerson (but not with two ms) and Annika (spelled this way) and Lydia, but not Calliope.

Caleb is awesome. I don't Mina at all.

I have a friend named Mina, so because of him, I don't see it as a girl name anymore.
I love Caleb, but would probably never use it because of its popularity and because I have a hard time seeing it on a grown up.

Cassandra Meghan Grace - Like Cassandra, LOVE Meghan (prefer "Megan" though) and love Grace. It flows really well too (Y) I'm really glad she wasn't a boy because her name is beautiful and I really dislike the name you were going to choose. (well i LOVE Evan, but hate Lyle and Brady and don't think it flows well)

Daniel Elliot Marcus - I LOVE all three names. Elliot and Marcus are in my top three and Daniel is in my top 7 names. I dislike Dan also.

Gina May Rhiannon - I dislike Gina a lot. May isn't really my style and Rhiannon isn't exactly my favourite either.. I dont think it flows well.. but I agree with your daughter that May is the best name of the three.

Caleb is beautiful.
Everett isn't really my style. I dislike Caleb Everett. What do you think of Caleb Evan?

I like Cassandra, but I think that I would only ever use it as a middle name, because I don't actually like the name, I like a character with it. I would hate being called Cassie too. I know too many people that I don't like with the name Meghan, and Grace is just too popular and too plain for me.

I like Daniel Elliot, but not really a fan of Marcus. I agree, Daniel is much better than Dan. But at least it's not Danny.

I don't really like any part of Gina May Rhiannon, sorry! Rhiannon is one of my least favourite names. May and Gina aren't that bad, they're just not my style at all.

Caleb Everett would be a really nice name. I'm not really a fan of Mina though.

i agree with gina actually. i've never been a fan of gina or rhiannon, but i like may.

i think cassandra's picks are good ones! caleb everett is a nice name and i like mina too.
