sooo... being that we're having a baby of unknown gender... have a girl name picked out, but NO boy name... people are always trying to give us suggestions.. many of which are not our style at all. apparently my 4-year-old daughter overheard some of the conversations surrounding the issue, because this morning when I was half awake, I heard her talking about "our naming style" in and among some other gibberish. lol.

anyway.. in all of my research (which is getting us no where, btw) I came across the name Odrian. wdyt? we would never use it, since my name is Adrienne and anything close to either of our names is off limits, but it just stood out to me. maybe because it's similar to my name, but not the usual Adrian you usually see for boys. I kind of think in another lifetime, I could almost like it ;)

I don't like it at all. I like Adrian on a boy (and Adrienne on a girl) a lot, but I really don't like Odrian at all. It just . . . ugh.

What other names do you like? What's your daughter's name, and the girl name you have picked out?

I very much like the sound of Odrian, but it looks strange written down.

It looks like a cross between Adrian and Orion, and it sounds like odor. No thanks.

Aww, that story is so cute!

I kinda like Odrian - but, as you say, it automatically makes me think of Adrian/Adrienne, and the geek in me also goes straight to Odo which I like better.

Nymbler always seem to fail for me, but for fun I put your children's names in to see if there is anything you would like, I like quite a few of them:
Bernhard, Herman, Soeren, Theodor, Arvid, Anders, Claus, Mathias, Adam, Armin, Jonas, Josef, Gustave, Gerard, Baldwin.

Odrian sounds like an abomination whip-stitched together from the charred, mangled remains of the names Oberon and Adrian. It also sounds somewhat like the name of a drug or an orc's name from D&D.

I don't like Odrian at all. I think that it's kind of ugly.

I don't really like it, but it is unusal.

What about Olin, Oren, Odin or Orion?

we're having a tough time with boy names too. We both agreed on a girls name right away, but for some reason we butt heads when it comes to boys. : \
