What do you think of the name Kieran for a little boy's name? Anything that comes to mind would be helpful-- I'm trying to make sure there aren't any negative associations (so far, all I've heard is that they sometimes get bullied as Queeran).

Thanks

I love the name Kieran! :)

It reminds me of a guy I used to date, named Kinan (prn Kee-nan).
He was egyptian and a really handsome guy, when he first introduced himself I misunderstood his name for Kieran. I prefer the sound of Kieran.

I'm just curious as to how you are pronouncing it. I dated a guy named Kieran and actually really like the name, but feel uncomfortable using for a name of any of my children because of him.

Forget trying to find a name kids can't make fun of=it's impossible. If your kid isn't getting mocked for their name, it will be something else. Or they're the ones doing the mocking =(
Unless you're naming your kid Shithead or something, I wouldn't worry.
Kieran is a very nice name.

I had a friend named Kieran, pronounced, Keer-ehn. I think it is a really nice name.

And yes, on occasion I called him queeren. I'll admit it :-P, but it was only in good fun :-D

I like it a lot.

I have a friend with the last name Kiernan (I know, not quite the same), and we call him Kiernor as part of an inside joke. I'd probably do that to my son if I named him Kieran. That's all it makes me think of.

It's always spelt wrong, and I presonally hate the name with pssion but Ic an't give you any reason for that- its a legitimate name on the right sex (girl, I hope!)

I prefer the gaelic version somewhat, CiarĂ¡n.

I like it in theory, but it's a little too close to things like Karen and Kirsten for me to give it the thumbs up. I think I could deal with it for a girl, but for a boy it's just too feminine for me.

My cousin is named Kieran, I quite like it.
I've never heard anyone calling him Queeran before....but I think that no matter what you name a kid, if someone wants to tease him/her then they will find a way. Kids are cruel like that.
