What does everyone think of the name Remy? I have met two people with this name; one a boy and one a girl. What are your opinions on this? The girl had the middle name Louise; the boy's is unknown.

Thoughts? I grew up with this name and therefore am indifferent; it's only recently I've found it to be unusual.

It reminds me of the book by Sarah Dessen This Lullaby. I love it.

How is it pronounced? REHM-ee or REE-mee? I like the first pronunciation, but not the second so much.

I like it. It sounds very European to me (as a boy's name anyway.)

I think of an old French man with an accent that smokes and plays cards.

:) Sorry, that's the only Remy I know.

I think it works only if one is male, of French/Belgian origin, and uses the accent aigue over the e.
If you fulfil all of my strict criteria, it's a good name ;)

I don't like it with an American accent.

It is the curse of many lovely French names.

Yeah, that's what it reminds me of too. But I don't really have an opinion either way.

I love it, but then again that's because it's the name of Gambit in the X-Men. I think it flows very nicely and I like the simplicity of the spelling. It can also be pronounced a couple different ways, and I think that's kind of cool.

I know of a male Remi. It's unique & pretty cool.. I like it a lot. Not enough to use it for my own son (i don't like it at all on a girl)

Reminds me of Gambit of X-Men (his name is Remy LeBeau). Cool name but I probably wouldn't use it. But I don't like it for a girl.

I like Remy. I know a girl Remy who uses it as a nickname for Rosemary. However, it will remind me of Remy LeBeau or Gambit from X-Men. And he was possibly the weakest of all X-Men.

I knew a Remy growing up - she lived across the street, was the same age as my sister, and had flaming red hair and a personality to match.
Her older sisters name was Marley.
