besides those, any other spellings? (if you suggest another spelling, please indicate which spelling of c/katherine you like better :] )

Kathryn (which is my name).

I prefer Katherine to Catherine.

My ranking:
Katharine (wouldn't use it because it would confuse people, but I think it looks nicest this way)
Katherine
Catherine
Kathryn

I also like other language equivalents of Katherine a lot, such as Katharina (German), Katrien (Dutch), or Catalina (Spanish), as well as just about any nickname imaginable for Katherine. It's definitely one of my favorites.

Kathryn gets my vote because it's my best friend's name.
And I love your icon. :)

Thank you.

Made it from a National Geographic image. I have a whole post full of them somewhere on my LJ. Their photos are always so beautiful.

I'm Katherine and it's worked out pretty well for me. Usually the only thing I have to tell people as far as spellings is when they ask, "With a C or a K?"

My mom's middle name is Kathryn and I've always liked the look of that.

We went with Katherine since I ultimately wanted the name Kate and there's the least amount of confusion for the child, or anyone else for that matter, when going from Katherine to Kate than Catherine to Kate. And I really didn't want a Cathy.

Katherine

It was my grandmother's name, so it was the first spelling I became familiar with. Another spelling which is growing on me is Katharine (as in Hepburn). I used to dislike Catherine, but it is growing on me too.

There's only one nickname that I think looks better with a C, and that's Cathy ... I *hate* Kathy.

I like both of those (and really dislike all other spellings). Catherine wins for me though.

Out of those two, I would pick Catherine. If I was using that name, I would spell it Catharine.

I've always prefered Catherine with a 'C', and I personally spell it Catharine. The 'C' and the second 'a' makes it very feminine, very classy, I think.

The name with a 'K' or a 'y' anywhere, and with the second syllable gone, makes me upset. :(

Catherine, definitely, with the nn Cate. Can't stand it with a K, or with 'ryn' instead of 'rine'.

Catherine for a first name - it seems more sophisticated
Katherine for a middle name
