I went to a La Leche League meeting yesterday, and these are the names of all the babies that were there:

Augustine/Gus (m)
Lila (f)
Esther (f)
Kai (m)
Opal (f)
Allyson (f)
Cole (m)
Aiden (m) (There had to be at least one!)
Beau (m)
Maddox (m)
Lily (f)
And one pregnant woman who will be naming her baby Embrianna.

I like Cole, Lily (but spelt Lilly) and Beau. I don't mind that spelling of Allyson, if it were only one L.

I like Augustine/Gus, Esther, and Lily a lot. I like Cole, but probably as a nickname. Embrianna is kind of silly. I always cringe at Allyson, but that's because my name is Alison, and I like it, so... plus, Allyson looks like it should be pronounced 'AWL-lee-son'.

heh, probably not, she was 2 days away from her due date. Also everyone at the meeting was like, "Oh, what a pretty name!" I threw up in my mouth a little.

Haha... I have always maintained that while I don't like Jayden, Braydon, etc. that I do like Aiden/Aidan (I can never decide the spelling). It's been on my list since about... 8 years ago? But if I have kids in the next 5 years or so I won't use it because of the overwhelming popularity.

I'm pretty sure Aidan is the more traditional spelling. I'm not sure why everyone decided it looked better with an 'e'...

I agree with you on Augustine/Gus, mostly because the little boy is totally adorable. Esther.....meh. I want to like it, but I just don't. I think people are taking the "old fashioned" names trend a bit far and picking names that really conjure up the image of a 90 year old lady. Agnes, Esther, Gertrude, etc.
