Really don't like it. Just asks for a nickname of King, and that sounds so sickly pretentious. :(

It's one of those surname/place names that doesn't seem like a name to me - imagine your child introducing himself, "Hi, I'm Kingston". It just sounds strange. If Kingston were a family name or you were from a town called Kingston or something I'd be OK with it as a middle... I don't think it sounds nice, and copying a celebrity doesn't make it "meaningful" if that makes sense.

Pretentious and ridiculous.

Where I'm from, everyone would laugh and ask if you lived/were from Kingston...

It's okay, but it's bit much to saddle on a person i think.

LOVE the name Kingston as a first name!! Kingston Evan is cute too. I say go for it =). People who say it's ridiculous are freaking nuts!

I like it. I'm a big Gwen fan so that's probably part of why I don't have a problem with it like I do so many other celeb baby names. I think it does work better as a middle, too... because I dunno... I def. like Evan Kingston though. It has a nice rhythm.

I know, I'm nuts for thinking that saddling a kid with an over-the-top, snobby-sounding name like 'Kingston' is a bad idea.

To each his own. :)

I guess so. You are nuts. It's not "over the top, snobby sounding" at all. And really, what's the problem with having a "snobby" sounding name? I can't picture a stoner with a name like Kingston so that's a plus, right? LOL.

I like it, especially as a middle name. I think Evan Kingston sounds great.

It's one of those names that you *could* have gotten from hearing it from a celebrity, but you could easily have thought of it on your own too, and it isn't quite as immediately identified with them. There's a city called Kingston a couple hours from where I live, and I think if I met someone with this as a first or middle name, I would assume his parents were from there or had met there or something.

I don't like it. Too over the top, and too recognizable as a singer's kid's name...

Probably works a lot better, for me, as a middle name, but it has nothing to do with snobby or pretentious or anything like that: it's just not my style. At all.

I have to agree. It sounds celebrity-ish and made up, and super super trendy. :(

And it does immediately make me think of Gwen Stefani.

Except for the fact that Kingston is the captial of Jamaica. Hi, rastafarian much? Instantly brings up the image of pot in my head.

There's a suburb near where I live called Kingston, and it's known for being a very low-socioeconomic area. So I can't easily shake that. It's also the brand of my USB stick.

If I try to look past all that, I still don't like the image I get of it on a person. For some reason I can only visualise a pimp with lots of chains. I suppose it's ok as a middle name though.

And I'm sure it'd do the same for a kindergardener.
