I'm weird. What if someone wanted to get REALLLLLLY creative and named their kid Viper but instead spells it Vyper or something strange...

I dont think Vypyr would work...

Not that i would name my kid after a snake or car.

"Oh yes, I think i'll name my triplets Viper, Cobra and Boa"

Good thing I'm not having kids for a long time XD but i already have their names picked out.

I used to watch a little boy named Blade, which I thought was pretty weird.

I have a real problem with creativley spelt word names, because there is just such a natural tendency to spell them y'know like the word. which is just asking for angst. It would drive me freaking crazy if that had been inflicted on me (Saige, Sayge, or ... I dread to think).
The only one I actually like is Skye, because that's an island near Scotland rather than just 'the big blue thing containing clouds'.

In other cases, people just seem to pick random things because they sound cool, which is really not the way to go. Words have meanings, that have to be lived with.

I agree with you!
