New "Babies"
Jul. 1st, 2008 03:00 pmHi all -
This is pretty far removed from naming actual babies, but I would really like some input. I just planted my first little garden. I am really excited to grow my own food and flowers, but I usually kill everything, even cacti! Will you help me name my plants for good luck? Give me all your guilty pleasure names, names you love but can't use for whatever reason, etc. I am not a weirdo who names every single thing I own, I just thought this would be fun.
I have:
Dahlias
Marigolds
Peppermint
Sage
Chives
Leeks
Rosemary
Radishes
Tomatoes
Baby Lettuce
Ok, go for it. I will post the names I choose if you guys are interested. Thank you so much!
(Edit - I appreciate all the input, but I would really like "original" names, as in I don't want to name the Rosemary Rose, Mary, Rosemary etc.)

It makes me wonder how long it will be before a child is named:
Peppermint, Chive, Leek, Radishe, Tomato or Lettuce???
Or if it has already happened?!?

Date: 2008-07-02 03:27 am (UTC)My favorite plant names are just names Matt won't let me use on a kid or a dog: Ulysses, Homer, Fred, Opal, Klaus, and Winifred. And maybe "Fred-wenia." Fred names tend to work well on all things green. :)
