[identity profile] neverstarsburn.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
first:

my cousin (in his 30s) has the name : Colin Arbuthnot Fahrion.
Yes. Arbuthnot. apparently it's a family name in my uncles family.

second:

I have a great-great aunt who's middle name is DeNyse as in Denise (my name) spelled horribly. She was born in the 1910s.

strange, non?
thoughts?

DeNyse is pretty weird..especially since she was born in the early 20th century, but I remember someone posting a bunch of very, very strange names that people used back in the day. I guess there have to be some people with weird names in every decade!

My aunt's name is Denyse, spelt with the Y, and I actually prefer it to the I spelling. She was born in 1962. So, not strange at all.

I don't think Denyse is that strange either, but I certainly find it unusual that someone in 1910 used DeNyse, with the N also capitalised. I thought random capital letters were a very recent thing.
