Jun. 23rd, 2008 11:24 pmEDIT:
My fiance and I have either decided on Kayleigh Anne or Kayleigh Rayne.
Thanks you guys, well, some of you!
I with-held most of my rude comments towards some rude people, because, fighting with a fool makes two.
:-)
Oh, and we haven't thought of a boy's name but oh well, we will eventually! :)

What is your, or your husband's, Grandmother's, Great Grandmother's, Mother's name and middle names?
Maybe one of those will sound nice! :)

Date: 2008-06-24 04:53 pm (UTC)I have a couple Kayleigh (that spelling, and others,) friends that are the best people I know. People need to keep unnecessary comments to themselves.
Your opinion is one thing. Saying my baby won't age well with the name is taking it too far.

Date: 2008-06-24 05:43 pm (UTC)It also strikes me as a name better fitted for a younger girl than an adult, but a lot of people also said similar things about Ashleys and Jennifers in the 80s, and well... now they ARE the adults. Not everyone needs to love that name, only yo do. So if you like it, go for it. And hopefully, she'll like it too! It's not like you're naming her Honey or Pookie or anything

Date: 2008-06-24 10:45 pm (UTC)I just don't understand why you have to go out there and put the "eigh" ending. Kaylee, or Kayley are nice spellings. It just seems like you're trying too hard with Kayleigh, you know?
And, again, Kayleigh seems a bit too...cutesy. I really can't imagine that name on an adult. Think, Grandma Kayleigh? Kayleigh the accountant?
The thing with names is that you have to choose them to match whatever life your child may lead. Kayleigh isn't the name a doctor would have. The reason my little brother isn't a Jack is because my dad couldn't imagine a Supreme Court judge being named Jack.
You have plently of time hopefully to reconsider the first name--if you choose to do so.

Date: 2008-06-24 10:48 pm (UTC)Now, that said, I don't think it's an awful choice, just not one I like to hear or see. Have you thought about Kayla, Cara, or Kate? They're simpler, less trendy names that sound reasonable on a successful adult. Good luck!
