What's a middle name that goes with James? The last name is French, two syllables, ends with the "eau" ("oh") sound. No middle names sound right to me.

And while we're at it, what do you think of it? Suddenly I'm in love. It's my husband's middle name, classic (though unfortunately common), and I think it's just plain nice. I do not like the nicknames Jim/Jimmy though.

My first thought would be Alexander.

And it's funny, because my last name (while probably different) fits your description, and I have an uncle named James. His middle name is Louis (LOO-ee, not LOO-is). I think that sounds good as well.

Alexander was my thought too. Something with four syllables will help the rhythm.

Then he could be J.R. for a nickname if you liked that better than Jim or Jimmy.

James Alistair
James Leon
James Roman
James Declan
James Alan
James Christophe (yes, Christophe, not Christopher...I'm afraid it will be misspelled a lot, but I think it sounds good!)
James Robin
James William
James Liam
James Guideon
James Michael

James is a little too boring for my own taste, but it's a good name! You can't go wrong with it =)
