From the babynames.com Celebrity Baby Blog:

It's a girl for Season Four Top Chef finalist Richard Blais. The Atlanta-based chef and his wife, Jazmin Zepeda, welcomed daughter Riley Maddox, yesterday [Thursday, May 29]. The newest little sous chef weighed seven pounds, nine ounces and was 21 inches long.

This BN blogger was lucky enough to sit next to the parents-to-be last Monday night at the Atlanta hotspot Noche, where Blais remained mum on outcome of the hit reality series and doted on his very pregnant wife between bites of tapas.

What do we think?

Take one of the most trendy unisex names out there, add on one of the most trendy boy's names, give that name to a girl, and voila! Yet another name that will forever date the kid to the decade they were born.

I'm not a fan of Riley, and I reaaally dislike Maddox. Ew. And on a girl it's even worse!

I really don't like either of these separately, but I actually kind of like it.

Trendy, masculine and ripping off one of the Brangelina names. Sorry, you lose.

At least they spelled them correctly...

I actually like the name Riley - but NOT on a girl.

I like Riley but Maddox is terrible. I don't even like it on a boy.

Ew. I can't take the name Riley seriously, because the first time I heard it used was on my uncle's dog. And Maddox? For a GIRL? Not even so bad on a boy, I suppose... but ... a girl?!

Okay, my family has a cat named Riley and a dog named Maddox. I can't see either of these names on a human, ever, and the combination is even worse. :-/

I don't like Riley, and I've always considered Maddox a boy's name. So...I don't think much about it.

Yeah, really. I think if you're going to give a girl a unisex name, you should at least give her a really feminine middle name. Riley Maddox is definitely a boy's name.
