A girl who was just on the radio:

Blythe

What do you all think?

Edit - I'm going to add that apart from the obvious association with those massive-eyed dolls...I actually quite like it.
Anyhow it's not THAT bad an association, there have been worse!

http://www.thisisblythe.com/ - These are the dolls I was referring to.

Too . . . something . . . for my tastes, but I do kind of like it.

It's a nice name for a little girl and also a woman I think - but I love the dolls and know a woman called Blythe so I could be bias =)

I find any form of doll discrimination problematic! You need to buy a Blythe. Let it convert you *wiggles fingers* let it sit by you....as you sleep =)

makes me think of 'little house on the prairie' types.

I love it, it's one of the top names on my girls' list.

I have no idea what those dolls are, but I think of the Anne of Green Gables series because that's Gilbert's last name. Anyway, I love the name.

Same here, never heard of the dolls, immediately think of Gilbert. I was thinking about this last night, actually. Remember in Anne's House of Dreams, when they have their first baby and it dies a few hours after it's born? Joyce, nicknamed Joy, so...Joy Blythe? And that on top of the almost comically overdone irony of their dead newborn being named Joy Blythe...L.M. Montgomery is a favorite of mine, but damn.

It's my mother's maiden name, so I like it for that. If I used it, it would probably be as a middle name.

I don't know what the dolls are. I think of Gwenyth Paltrow because of it being her mom's name, and Apple's mn. And I think of Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables.

I actually love it... and I've never heard of the dolls, and I could never get into Anne of Green Gables, so it doesn't really have any connotations for me.

I'm a huge Anne of Green Gables fan and a lot of combinations my husband and I like have at least one name from the books (which is not hard because they are mostly classic names). One of our top contenders is Persis Blythe.

It sounds kind of old, but I guess if that's what you wanted. I know nothing about these dolls.
