Hi I just joined and thought I'd put my names
out there.

I'm having a little tyke, don't know the gender yet
(just entered my second trimester)
but as alot of people I'm hoping beyond reason for
a girl. But to put it in the best words:
I will be the most gracious for a healthy baby. ♥

The girl's name I am stuck with and won't change:
London Bren

The boy's name I haven't found one to stick with:

Paul- after my Uncle Paul who has recently passed

Alejandro (said Al-ah-hand-ro)- My boyfriend (baby's
daddy) likes this name, but I'm just throwing it out there.
I'm not to sure, because I wouldn't be able to yell that. ;)

That is about it. I know..not at all good chosing. I would
appreciate some input and ideas(if, of course, you don't mind
me stealing them)

The tough thing is these children are going to need to know
how to spell. Their last name is: Echternacht-Sunsera. Echternacht
being my boyfriend's last name, and Sunsera mine. I'm single
not at all close to being engaged, and I want my children
to have the best of both parents. ♥

I definitely think uncomplicated names would work best with the baby's last name. London is nice. Easy to spell, easy to pronounce.

Paul would be just fine too. If the last name was Smith, I believe Paul would sound too boring, but not with your combined last names. Alejandro I believe, is a bit too much combined with the last name. It is also nice to honor your uncle. It might be nice as a middle name as well. That way if you want a name that is not quite as common, you can still honor your uncle.

An example would be Jared Paul. Jared is not as common, but is easy to spell and pronounce.

Jared Paul Echternacht-Sunsera.

I agree. An uncomplicated name but not too common name so that people don't have to use the last name that often. They can just say "London" and she'll probably be the only one. As opposed to "Sarah...Eck...Etch..Eekter..."

i love the name london and have been considering it for a boy myself, but its really cute for a girl too.

i dont really like either of the boys names, just not my taste, but i agree that something simple but a little different would work best with your last name. maybe max or luke or something?

I know a little girl named London and she's adorable. So I think that it's a cute name.
I agree with the other commenters that a less complicated name for a boy would work better. Maybe even more so than with a girl because while women often change their names when they get married men generally do not.

Alejandro is actually pronounced Al-lay-hond-ro. It's the spanish form of Alexander. Right now Alexander and Alejandro are exteremly popular middle names. So if you want something unusual, I wouldn't recommend Alejandro.

I love your girl's name is beautiful, unusual, and compliments the last name.
I think Paul Alejandro is a bit over the top for the last name. Maybe something simpler.

I'd try to go with something easy to pronounce but not too common for a little boy. Nothing in the top 10 boys names, at any rate. The last name is a little bit of a mouthful, and if you go with something less common he'll be able to just use his first name.

as far as the name Alejandro...

i had a Ukranian friend, whose name was Natalie. but her parents *always* called her Natalka (the Ukranian form of the name), so i get the impression they'd wanted to name her that, but spared her the misspellings/mispronounciations by just giving her the English form. anyone who was around her a lot (good friends and whatnot) ended up calling her Natalka, so it was good on all ends.

so maybe call him Alexander, and just call him Alejandro (or whomever feels the need to, anyway)?

I love the name Paul. I actually have an Uncle Paul on both sides, oddly enough. I'm not too sure about it with your last name, though. I do agree that you'd want a rather simple first name in order to go with your last, but a one-syllable first name might seem a little odd when paired with what I'm assuming is a six-syllable last name. I might try to go for a two syllable last name. I think London works for this reason.

Everytime London is thrown out there as a name i get very confused. Being English it seems weird to me. all the place names i like were were either names before they were places or are really really far away from me (Paris, Georgia.. hmm i think thats it actually lol)

I'm not too keen on the name Paul, if i was honouring a relative i would always use it as a middle name- i think children should always have their own name. Alejandro *middle name* Echternacht-Sunsera is a bit of a mouthful... maybe you should keep the first name shorter. I dont really like Alejandro, but i have always loved Ally for a boy..

I can tell you just me with my last name
it was hell in school. NO ONE could say it
properly.

It's just Sun like the big fiery ball in the

be neutral. And I can picture it..
but I wanted both names to be separate

I'm going on the theme to have
the boy's middle name Paul.
Just like the girl's name has a
one syllable middle name.

And you are correct on six syllable
last name. It will be hard to say
for the child..I know.
And the crazy thing is that is not
the boyfriend's true last name.
His last name is hyphened also:
Echternacht-Taylor. Taylor being
his father's last name. But the Taylor
side of the family disowned the Echternacht-
and in honor of his mother I'm keeping
the side he treasures the most.

It looks straightforward to me, but then again I took German for 5 years so I'm familiar with words that look like that and how they should be pronounced lol. But...people in this world can be pretty special about pronunciation, lol. My ex-best friend's last name was Shuping, rhyming with looping. Looks like it would, right? But people would say Shupping (rhyming with cupping), shipping, shiping (rhyming w/ typing), shoe-ping (like two different words), etc. She got all kinds of shit.

I thought of the Modest Mouse song:

that we never been to.'

neither one of us have been to London
so it fit. And I got more stuck on it
as months wore on.

Awesome! Taking German and my boyfriend's
last name is German.

Both names are very straight foward,
I admit it took me a few weeks to finally
pronounce my boyfriend's last name.
I work at a Call Center for Cingular Wireless
and I get alot of last names that I know
I would murder.

When I saw Shuping..I thought of it rhyming like
Looping. It has a U in it! ;)

People would pronounce my last name: Soonsera
or Soonseeray. eh.

Yeah, I thought Soon-sara when I first saw it. It just looks foreign or something and u's are generally pronounced like that in other languages (or maybe just western languages, I only took Spanish and German). Whoops. Ha.

But yeah the Shuping I never got...words require TWO of one letter to try to pronounce it like Shupping. But she got that allll the time. Hot.
