Courtney on a boy?

There's a new guy at work with this name and I'm just wondering what you all think. I think it's cute but I always like unisex names on boys, like Casey and Shelby, so I'm biased.

Also, has anyone ever heard Chelsea on a boy? I was at a hockey game the other day and I swear one of the players was named Chelsea.

Not my thing.
I like Courtland, though. Masculine and strong, no
confusion there. The male love interest in Man in the
Moon was named Courtland, called Court. I like it.

I don't like it . I don't like it much on a girl either but its worse on a boy. I love unisex names though.
My name is Courtney so I am biased in not liking it maybe.

I haven't heard Chelsea for a boy. I think its an ugly name either way, on a girl or boy.

I knew guy named Courtney in high school. Interestingly enough he was also tall, hot, and black! It's ok for a guy, but the guy has to be able to pull it off and I'm not sure that ability can be determined in utero. Tall hot black guys obviously can handle being named Courtney. Short, trim, white, nerds might have more mental issues with a name more common for girls.

I've never heard Chelsea on a guy before. Was it a pro game? If not, maybe it was a girl out there showing 'em how it's done! ;)

I don't like Courtney much on either sex.

I've never heard of Chelsea on a boy. I have a soft spot for it on a girl, and it seems very, very feminine to me.

I think Courtney and Chelsea have gone to the girls, and to put those names onto children now would be torture - torture, in my opinion, worse than creative names.

I think that I've heard of a boy named Chelsea, but I couldn't tell you who, haha.

I'm still looking but there's a Kelsey on the Milwaukee Admirals team... Kelsey isn't nearly as bad as Chelsea on a guy, IMO.

I believe Courtney was originally a boys name. I don't like it on a boy though.

My sister's name is Courtney, so I can't see it on a boy, plus I really really hate the name!

It's definitely a boy name stolen by the girls. I don't have a problem with it...probably because I'm a Kelli, which is in the same boy name stolen category.

My name is Courtney. Courtney was originally a male name. When my mom told my greatgrandparents my name, they had a fit and said I'd be made fun of for having a boy name.

Aside from the fact that I know a lot of other people with the same name as me, I still like it and I like it on boys. It became trendy around my time, but that wasn't my mom's intention when she used it.

I like it on a boy, and I don't think only tall, muscular, hot guys can carry it. I think any guy you raised with even a normal amount of self-confidence could handle it.

If you really like it, you might consider a middle name that lends further nickname options, like John or James so that if the boy really couldn't handle Courtney/Court, he could go by CJ or something.
