[identity profile] 0oraeraeo0.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
As of late I’ve been working on developing a couple of characters I created fairly recently. I find naming to be difficult so it has been somewhat challenging to pick suitable names for the two male characters in question as well as picking names that correspond well to the time period (1800’s). I have it narrowed down to some but I still require a bit of help.

To help you here is a little bit about these characters:

Character A

*Is an Irish-Scot; his father is a hard headed individual who pretty much deems what he says goes and his mother is a strong willed woman who isn’t afraid to stand her ground against her hubby in order to get her way. Needless to say there are plenty of fights between these two.
*Born in the late 1800’s (1860-70’s)
*Family status would be considered “low class”
*In his late 20’s he emigrates from his homeland to the United States in hopes of having a better life and so on and so forth.
*He is a rather happy individual but he falls into his moody and temperamental ruts often. Overall he’s a good guy, not quite as fist happy as his father, but you do anything to make him mad you better prepare to have fist thrown in your face.

Name: Finlay --- Finnigan

I love the name Finlay and the nickname of Finn is an added bonus so i have no qualms here. I am also fond of the last name “Finnigan” because of how well it flows with Finlay – kind of like a William Williamson type of name. If the names seem too obnoxious together than feel free to suggest alternates.
Obviously I couldn’t come up with a good appropriate middle name so any help there will be appreciated.

Character B

*Born and raised in the United States, heritage-wise his family is English.
*Born in the early 1880’s
*His family is high-class, ritzy, and rolling in the monies. Father is domineering over the family and his mother is a meek woman that is easily controlled and not one to complain so long as her husband gives her money to spend on herself.
*Isn’t quite the snob the rest of his family is, though he is a bit of a “sheltered” young man that doesn’t have a lick of street smarts. He’s a nice guy and he likes to primp and preen himself to always look his best (gets it from his mother).

Name: William Preston Escott or Preston William Escott

I couldn’t decide between William and Preston, both of them had a nice dapper sound to them which is what I am aiming for with this character considering his family’s social standing. Instead of picking I figured I’d use one as the middle name but I wasn’t sure which way sounded best - William Preston or Preston William.
Of course as much as I like these names I am open for any suggestions.

I’m open to ANY help.
