ok, thank you to those who gave me some suggestions on my last post. :-)

also, yes i'm aware that the traditional irish/gaelic names in the old language are going to be hard for ppl in america to say/pronounce... but honestly, there's tons of hispanics/blacks/asians/indians (from india) with what white america would consider hard to pronounce names. who cares?! it's their culture and they chose to honor it. as do my fiancee and i.

; ok, in the place of NN's i put pronunciations, just to remind ppl. :-)

oh! and unfortunately it won't let me do the accented letters.

I think you need to close your image tag.

I liked most of them. I wouldn't use any of the really obscure looking ones as first names, just because the child is the one that is going to have to correct teachers and peers his/her whole life, which may lead them to hate the name.

My mom really regrets not spelling my brother's name Padraic instead of Patrick.

My husband's parents did the same thing, and his mom changed it when she was registering him for school.

His sister stuck with Shelagh.

You know, I wouldn't worry too much about obscure spelling or pronunciation in a middle name. Middle names are rarely written in full, or spoken by anyone other than the parents, so it'd be rare that he or she would need to make any corrections.

I love Irish names but I only like them when they are spelled traditionally, so I love your names :)

Those are some really great names. There were few I didn't like.

My favourites are Ezra Dillion, Nathanael Finn, Levi Flynn, Phineas Seighin, Aine Elizabeth, Elizabeth Roisin and Leah Aislinn.

Have you thought about Elisheva instead of Elisheba? I believe it's actually the same name, but I think Elisheva sounds prettier.
