I'm looking for names that end in "-ith". So far I know of Lilith, Meredith, Judith end Edith, but I'm looking for others, if you guys can think of any. Can be either male or female. I just like the sound of those types of names. :>

Gwenith is Welsh for wheat, and a girl's name. Gareth is sometimes spelled with an i, as is Kenneth. Griffith.

Faith and Keith are a spelling match but not what you're looking for, I guess. :)

Close, but ends in -a: Talitha. I met a beautiful girl once named Talitha, and I thought the name was really cool.

I've a friend named Mareth; I reckon you could spell it with an i.

My son has a friend (male) named Tanith. I looked up the meaning which said "An Estate." The origin is unknown.

I found this for Tanith on behindthename.com. It's feminine...

TANITH
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Near Eastern Mythology
Derived from Semitic roots meaning "serpent lady". This was the name of the Phoenician goddess of love, fertility, the moon and the stars.

Oh thanks. Great meaning. I always liked his name. Maybe his mother got it from a male character in a book she read or something. I have no idea.

Well, that is a popular feminine ending in Hebrew, so here are some names... I think they're usually transliterated with just a T but I've seen the -ith ending as well. They're normally accented on the last syllable.

Kalanit - flower
Ranit - tune
Galit - wave/fountain

Just throwing these out for interest - I can't imagine anyone who isn't Israeli or Jewish using these... (although being a Hebrew nerd, I might be tempted :) )

Maybe there's some story behind it :) In any case, nobody knows about this name, so the boy won't be teased for having a girl's name :)

the boy won't be teased for having a girl's name :) Good point.

Also, it sounds nice for either sex.

Ooh, try this site! There's an option to search baby names by ending, so it's the one I always go to when I'm stuck on a certain sound.
