I heard a mother call out to her son, approx four years old. It could have been any of the following:

Jirish
Syrish
Zyrish

They all rhyme with his real name, which I later found out was Irish

WDYT? IMO it's ok - very different, but his parents looked slightly 'different' (ie from the 60's free world, only not 40 years old lol)

Also, his mother looked heavily pregnant. If you had to name the sibling, what names (boy/girl or both) would you choose??

Mine would be Bowie Jem or Bohden Jem for a boy or Indigo Lani for a girl

I really don't like Irish.
It was what we call my friend Iris for fun sometimes =P

I'm really with you on Indigo, and as for a boy...I'm tending towards something Irish. And I'm actually not kidding.

A friend of a friend on LJ has children named Ireland and Scotland. As much as I love Ireland and long to travel to Scotland, and have been fascinated with all things Celtic since childhood, I think they're horrible names. But Irish is worse to me, for some reason.

I read a short story once with a character named Irish and he was a great character so I have a soft spot for the name. I've always had this super guilty pleasure sib set in my mind of brothers named Pike and Irish. I like it but I would never do it. lol

I know two Filipino women named Irish. Both in their mid 20s.

I don't really like it as a name.
