I don't like Alicen at all. I think Kasie looks more feminine than Casey, so I think I like that spelling better but I really don't like the name so it's hard to say haha. I like Sara and Sarah equally well. Ciara and Brooke are the spellings I prefer on those names.
I really don't like Alicen. I love Alice though. I like Sara without the 'h'. And I like the name Brooke Alexandria as well, but spelled like that, I want to pronounce it Alex-an-dree-ah. Ciara is fine, and I like Kasie much better when it's spelled Casey.
You know, I really hope this doesn't come off as snarky, but I have to say -- your habit of using the word "wee" in every sentence drives me absolutely up the wall. I don't know why. It just does. Sweet Jesus.
To answer your question: 1) I cannot stand the name Sara (or Sarah, if you prefer.) I've known way too many bitchy Sarahs and now they've ruined the name for me.
2) I like the name Allison, but I HATE when people try to spell it "creatively" (like "Alicen", for example.) Sierra's a nice name, though.
3) I don't really like Ciara -- too trendy and too much opportunity for people to mispronounce it -- but I like Hope.
4) Not a fan of Brooke, really -- again, too trendy and also too "soap opera" sounding for me. Alexandria is okay, but I much prefer Alexandra.
5) Can't stand "Kasie". Is that supposed to be an alternate spelling of Casey/Kasey? Like I said before, I can't stand "creative" spelling. I like Rebecca.
I like Brooke Alexandria. Sara Faith is a little boring, which is something I shouldn't even be saying because people always tell me my taste in names is boring. Alicen is way too creatively spelled for me, if it's meant to be pronounced like Alison (My favorite spelling is Allyson). Is Kasie pronounced like Casey? I don't like that spelling at all. My favorite spelling is Kacey.
Hi. Lauren here. I hope you're doing well. I just got your comment. First of all, I think you were a wee bit harsh. But let me explain my reason for using the phrase "wee" or "wee bit" in most of my posts. I had a VERY good friend named Colleen back when I was a child. My childhood was very hard and she helped me out a great deal. Colleen was Irish. She used "wee" and "wee bit" and "Aye" a LOT. Using those phrases brings back great memories for me. And I, myself am 3% Irish, but the main reason i use those three phrases is because of Colleen and what she did for me. It also helps keep the memory of our friendship alive. I hope that helps everyone understand a wee bit better.
P.S
And I honestly think you need to be a wee more tollerant of others. You didn't like me bringing the truth of God's love into this community, so I stopped writing about it at the end of my posts out of respect to everyone here. Now you have a problem with the way I say things. I am all for making people happy, but i refuse to change the way i speak for anyone. After all, variety is the spice of life.
Ciara is the correct spelling for KEER-ah. It's just us stupid Americans that can't handle names from other languages~a tradition widely used on Ellis Island when immigration officials changed the names of immigrants to be "easier to pronounce." I loathe that Ciara is now known as a spelling of Sierra. Grrr....
i've known that, it just looks like ciara to me because i am american. so i end up thinking kiera looks better. and i think the majority of other americans would try to pronounce it see air uh as well, which is why i said that it looks unusual.
You know nothing of how tolerant I am. I simply wondered why you used "wee" so much, and I was honest in telling you that it bugged me. But if you want to get on your high horse about religion/tolerance/whatever, go ahead. Whatever makes you feel better.
The way you phrased your opinnon was a wee bit harsh. That's all I'm saying. You may not have intended it to come out that way, but that's how it came across to me. If you were honestly interested, then ask away. I don't mind answering questions like that. In fact, I did answer it.
I don't know what your problem is, but I suggest you choose your words more carefully. I DID NOT swear at you and I would like the same resepct in return. I didn't do anything to offend you, so I don't know what's wrong.
Okay. I don't know what your problem is, but I honestly don't understand what you have against me. I didn't swear at you and I would appreciate the same respect in return. All I was trying to do was share a wee bit about myself so people can get to know me better. Also, I was just stating my opinion of how that particular comment came across to me. That's all I was doing. I didn't mean to offend you if I did.
Why can't the few of you who seem to like hurting me or more specifically judge me based on a mistake just move on and use this community for what it's for. I get it, okay. You don't like me. i really get it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because I'm visually impaired. I'm really starting to regret my decision to give this community a second chance. And it's all because some people can't learn to see with their hearts a wee bit more.
Dude, I don't know you. I don't know a thing about your vision. For you to suggest that I somehow secretly know about your impairment is crazytalk.
I also do not dislike you, want to hurt you or judge you. I do not know you! I found something that was said by a person (who is not you) funny, it made me laugh and I let them know. I had this Irish Spings/Lucky Charms thing going on.
Anyway, I'm not even part of this community as I do not want or need the advice of strangers in naming my real and already named children. You've gotta relax man, the Internet can be harsh. It's not all about you.
My great-great-grandfather came to America from Ireland when he was 12. Another relative was from Poland. A few more still from Germany. I'm related to both Presidents Roosevelt and Edgar Allen Poe somewhere along the line.
I don't feel the need to pepper my speech with the word wee. Quite honestly, when I see the word 'wee', I think of Susan tipping the wee out of Billy's shoe in Thief of Time. I don't eat perogis every day or drink beer out of mugs with funny hats. (lol beer steins. What're those lids for, anyway, keeping out the rain, or keeping the drink in while quaffing?) Nor am I a President. Nor do I use the word 'nevermore' on a regular basis. (Although now I may have to...nevermore.)
I'd make another EAP reference... what was the story about the wine and the wall? And. Um. Lenore is a nice name? I have no idea what we're talking about anymore.
Actually, it's not. You have no right to judge me like that. And for those of you who actually want to read it, the full story is in my journal. And it is NOT made up. It really happened and Colleen was there for me during some of the most difficult times of my life.
Except that real Irish people from Ireland don't name their daughters "Colleen." Seriously. Colleen means "girl" in Irish Gaelic.....people don't name their kids "girl" and "boy" in most cultures.
I'm supposed to be doing my taxes and instead I'm reading a wee bit of this. A drop of Irish blood...and I do mean drop causes this kind of self involvement? I had no idea..I have to tell my mother, who is "off the boat" as we say, that she needs to step it up. She is also sorely lacking in her use of "wee".
See, I was thinking it was 1/16th but I wasn't sure if that was right.

I don't really care for the spelling of Kasie, either... but Casey looks male to me, maybe because I had a lot of male friends named Casey, lol.
None of them really flow the way I like, but I suppose they may flow well in your eyes. :P
