[identity profile] erikalyn.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
It's looking more and more like my baby girl's name is going to end up being Stella but I'm still having a hard time finding a middle name to go with it, so I'm back once again for help.

I'm tossing around the idea of having a rock & roll/bluesy middle name or something that has to do with the "dirty south" (and by that I don't mean southern names like Stella Mae).

I normally hate place names, however, I LOVE the name Memphis but Stella Memphis [Trenholm] doesn't sound right? Maybe it's just me. My only other thoughts are Marley and Presley.

Suggestions?

What about a name in a song from a songwriter/singer you find influential? Comparable to someone using Jude because of the Beatles.

There are a lot of place names I'm not crazy about either, but I do like the name Montgomery.

I went to http://www.babynamegenie.com/baby-middle-names/index.php, it lets you input a first and last name and offers middle names suggstions.
Well, everytime I try, it ends up giving me within the first 3 trials a middle name that I had actually considered for the name I input! (and I don't have trendy tastes)

Now, I tried with Stella Trenholm, and among the third lot of suggestions.. there was Stella Presley ...now, awesome or what!?? :D

Gotcha! :)

I do think it's more masculine too, but I tend to be more okay with masculine names or surnames as middle names for either gender, as there's certainly a precedent for it in history, and it's not just some new trend, you know?

These might be kind of "out there", but what about Stella Blue? Or Stella Peach?

Presley, to me, makes it sound like she has no middle name, but has a hyphenated last name. I don't really care for Memphis or Marley, but they sound better in this case than Presley.

I really liked a couple of [livejournal.com profile] june15's suggestions, like Stella Dixie and Stella Magnolia. Stella Tallulah might be a bit too "out there", but I think it works really well.

Stella Lucille. Lucille is the name of B.B. King's guitar, and it doesn't get much bluesier that that.

I don't think it's too out there. I've heard it as a middle name before and think it's cute!

I like Stella Mae a lot actually. As for others mentioned Stella Blue and Stella Lucille are quite nice. I wouldn't like the middle names by themselves, but paired with Stella, perfect. Stella Fleur (New Orleans, haha)?

I like Stella Peach that somebody mentioned before. It's unique, and cute, and sounds... sweet.

While I like Lucille, I think Peach flows better with Stella. Stella Lucille has a lot of Ls in it, making it a bit difficult to say.

i think stella peach is incredibly sweet. i love it.

stella is so classy and strong, it can definitely hold a middle name like peach. if her name were arabella or baileigh or something, i wouldnt recommend it. but stella is awesome.

Yay! I love the flow of it, it just sounds good together. Normally I hate alliterative names, but I think Stella Lucille somehow works.
