dWhat are everyone's favorite Geographical names for girls and boys? They can be cities or towns or even countries. It really doesn't matter.

Here are mine: India, Ireland and Madison. That last one was the capital of Wisconsin. How about everyone else?

my boyfriends dog is named virginia. we are moving in together next month, and have decided that if when we get another dog, we will name him/her indiana or georgia. indiana has always been a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. tennessee is a guilty pleasure too, but would never use it.

i really like india, wish i could use it but it would be silly on a very fair skinned redheaded little girl, as my kids are destined to be.

i love carolina too, but pronounced the spanish way (care-oh-leen-ah), not like the state.

as a sidenote, i passed a sign in front of a store the other day that said "welcome maddisynn grace" and i immediately thought of this community. so much yuck.

for gepgraphical names i like quite a few:

Catalina - it's a beautiful island here in southern california
Geneva - as in switzerland, because i was born there :]
India - just find it pretty
Kent - always liked this name, as opposed to 'ken'
Kenya - i know a girl named kenya, she's really pretty
Montana - sounds... 'free' to me
Phoenix - rising from the ashes and all that
River - i just like the mental image i get here, peaceful, steady
Sahara - love the sound of it
Savannah - in the state of georgia, it's such a beautiful city
Sierra - 'free' like montana

Which one in particular? I don't remember a Salem character in there.

I like Carmel, Savannah, Sienna (maybe that's a color I'm associating with a place and not a place itself). On that subject, I also like names that I associate with places, such as vineyards, the ocean, forests, and deserts.

Atlanta is the closest, for me. Place names aren't really my thing.
Though I prefer Atalanta like the Greek heroine instead of the place in Georgia.

Come to think of it though, I suppose Georgia is a kinda nice name

Erin is passible.

Oh yeah! I also really like Austin, but Austin street, the street I grew up on in Queens, NYC, not the Texas city. (There's also a Houston st in NYC, HOW-ston, not hugh-ston!!!)

I never would have thought of it on my own, but Geneva is really nice too.

Jordan is okay Lol.

OH! And can't forget Chad! (I have a huge joke with friends about Chad, we love Chad!)

madison isn't really a geographical name; the city was named for some guy's last name. it's a surname.

Of course. You're right. Thanks for the reminder, I knew that from art history.
