WDYT of Oren?

I like it alot but could never use it because my husband has a good friend whose last name is Oren and that sort of thing always ruins names for him, if he already knows someone with them I mean.

like the name, we actually considered it a while ago but with a last name that sounds similar to it its a no go for us.

Oren, at first glance, looked like Oreo. Haha, maybe I'm hungry. And then when I saw it for what it was, I thought of the neverending story. That said, it's nice sounding. I don't know if I'd choose it personally. I like Orien better, and it's pretty similar.

I like it better on a girl. I know both boys and girls with the name.

No, it's an item. That was my first thought, too. On the other hand, I love arcane knicknacks and Neverending Story, so I don't mind.

There's also Auron in Final Fantasy X, but that's another positive association for me, if terribly geeky. (Not that Neverending Story isn't a little geeky.)

I thought Oreo immediately.

I prefer Orion, for a spelling. Lol.

I don't really like it.

I like Orion, though.

I like Hebrew names for trees, so yes. Also, Orens are good people here.

Some other ones:

- Oren: pine
- Erez: cedar
- Alon: oak (Alona is the feminine)
- Ilan: tree (Ilanit is the feminine)

no but the story kind of revolves around this pendant that one of the main character carries and its called Auryn and it just sounds really similar to me. if you didn't see it written it seems like it could be mistaken easily.

I like it. It's a good Hebrew name. My husband hates it though and if we find out this baby is a boy he's already vetoed it. :(
