[identity profile] after-the-ashes.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hey! Thanks for all the response on my last post here! So, just in case you missed it, I'm pregnant! And if it's a boy we're going with Henry Isaac. If it's a girl, I have no idea! But, I do have more of an idea now. We went through some names and came up with a new list. Oh, and I have a daughter, Cressa May Henri (two middle names for those who asked, and Henri is pronounced on-ree).

Elise
Emelia
Lucy
Natalie
Rosemary
Sophia

Very small list... any suggestions? None of them really do it for me. Well, no, three of them I can really see working, but still, not in love yet. I hope that means we are having a boy... =]

I agree with you on the meaning as well :)
I actually prefer Lucille or Lucilla (Lucy Van Pelt fan here!!) because it leaves the option of having Lucy just for nickname purposes..

Middle names, let's see..
Lucy Rebecca (my favorite!)
Lucy Madeline (combining two songs from the same Hanson album lol)
Lucy Anita
Lucy Tabitha
Lucy Miriam
Lucy Cornelia
Lucy Arlene
Lucy Corinna

All of those are really beautiful names.

Particularly I'm in love with Rosemary.

I heart interpol therefore I love Rosemary. Sophia is a close second and Emelia is right at third.

rosemary is probably my favorite of your list. rosemary and cressa go really well together for some reason. natalie, sophia, and elise are pretty, but kind of boring next to cressa. emelia is very pretty, but i think it'd be misspelled amelia constantly. lucy is a sweet name. i like the suggestion someone else had of lucy tabitha.

All of them are great. Sophia isn't really my thing, but it's not a bad name. As for Emelia, I prefer Emilia or Amelia. My favourites are Natalie, Lucy, and Rosemary, in that order.

I'm not really a fan of any of the names, but Emelia (prefer Amelia) and Sophia (prefer Sofia) are the ones I like the most. I think they both work better as sibsets to Cressa.

Anjali / Angelique
Alessandra
Carys
Carese
Estelle
Fleur
Harlow
Jean
Louise / Louisa
Lourdes
Mabel
Stella

I'm going in for a c-section in a few days for my triplets, and my little boy is going to be named Henry Isaac... =/

Out of your list, I really like Elise and Sophia. Elise was going to be the middle name for one of our girls, but it didn't blend well with out style -- I think it works with yours.

If you named your child Emilia, I would suggest the spelling "Aemilia", since Emilia could be easy linked to the more popular name, Emily, and that's not really all that good.

None of the names are really my taste. Sophia is getting really popular, so I beg that you don't name your daughter that. So is Lucy (I think only in the UK, though.)

This is coming from an Emily, and I hate how popular my name is, so really, think before you give your child a name everyone else seems to have.

Congrats on your baby, though!

Oh, and, if you do use Lucy, how about you give your baby, if it's a girl, that is, a name that Lucy could be a nn to? Like Lucille.

I would go with Amelia instead of Emelia, since it's the same name, but Emelia is going to cause spelling/pronunciation issues that Amelia won't. Otherwise I love them all. My favorites are Amelia (if spelled this way), Lucy, and Sophia.

I don't think Amy is actually a common nickname for Amelia. Mostly it's Mia or Lia. At the least, it's not a name that's normally shortened to the point where people would do it automatically like Samuel or Benjamin or something.

Cressa is a gorgeous name!

My favourites from that list (in order) are Natalie (my top girls name!), Lucy and Emelia (but I like it Emilia). But all really nice names.

For some reason another name I can see working with Cressa is Harley. I don't know why, but I do :P

I love love love Natalie! And while Rosemary isn't my favourite name ever, I think it goes really nicely with Cressa.

My name is Lucy! :-)
