[identity profile] oni85.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So - right after I post that blog about how difficult it is to name our child - and how much we have been disagreeing, we finally come up with our PERFECT BOYS NAME.

I guess we must have just been thinking really hard about what would be good - and suddenly we were in synch.

Dylan Thomas Hazzard

It's traditional enough to make Grant (my hubby) happy - and it's not too plain for me. I was aiming for Dylan because of Bob Dylan, and Grant suggested Dylan Thomas because of the poet.

It was one of those MOMENTS - where everything clicked. Hopefully we have a good experience like that for when we choose our girl name once and for all.

Congratulations!

Dylan Thmas Hazzard.

It's a bit.. movie star for me..

Dylan Thomas is too obsessive honorary for no real reason, and it's kind of trendy what with fitting in with the -en/an trend of the moment. However it is a real name, with real heritage, spelt correctly and most importantly on the right sex!

Is Hazzard your surname? I saw that and read 'Dukes of Hazzard'.

You think?
It's ranked 26.. that's pretty respectable either way.
If you care about popularity it's low enough I'd say.

Is "Hazzard" your last name? It's fine if it's your last name, because then you don't have a choice, but as a middle name? Ehhhh.

Dylan Thomas is very cute, though. I have this weird malfunction in my brain, though, that makes me say "DIE-lynn" every time I read the name. Quite annoying, but no one else has it, so don't worry, hahah. Just thought I'd share:]

Loooooove Bob Dylan AND Dylan Thomas, so even though I'm not a huge fan of Dylan as a name, you get a huge thumbs up from me:)

Oh I see.. actually it's not used at all in Italy, but I was basing my comment only on my perception of popularity.. from what I come across on the Internet, essentially. I haven't encountered it often, but of course that's just my experience :)
