This is for a character, not a baby, but I could sure use advice! I'm working on a novel with a vampire character named Damon. (Yeah, yeah, everyone and their sister is writing a vampire novel. Anyway.) I'd already written two drafts of the thing before I ever heard of the book & TV show "The Vampire Diaries" which also has a vampire named Damon. They even look similar.

I don't really want to change my character's name. I've gone through four drafts now with him as Damon, so it's really hard for me to think of him as anything else, plus the name Damon has meaning in the context of the story. So, Question #1: Should I change the name?

And Question #2, of course: If I change it, what to? The candidates:

Damian (is this a big enough change?)
Dominic, nn Dom
David

Other suggestions welcome...

Please keep in mind that these names are for fictional characters. Lol, I would never name a real child Chastity.

1. I need a good boy "themey twin name" for Isadora. Preferably something that also starts with an I. I'm having a lot of difficulties finding a boy name that I like.

2. I need a girls' name that will sound good in a sib-set with Isadora and whatever you answered for #1, without being quite so themey. I would prefer that this name not start with an I.

3. I need girls' names that, at least to some degree, means "virgin." I need a name that nods to sexual purity, but I'd really rather not be as blatant as to just name the character Virginia or Chastity. If I do end up using either of those, though, what nick-names might I use other than Ginny for Virginia?

4. I need a boys' name that works in a sib-set with whatever you recommend for question #3. I really don't care what the boys' name means, it just needs to work reasonably well with the answer to #3 and not have a ton of stereotypes tied to it.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions!
