Hi :) I have a daughter named Deziree, and I'm pretty much looking for any kind of ideas of girl or boy names starting with D. The D thing is'nt too important, but if I can find a name that kinda goes nice with Deziree that would be nice, Thank you!!

Thought I'd share the names of the two newest additions in my life-- Sophie Renee and Sophia Maria. Haha, popular name? Doesn't matter, I think it's sweet. :) Sophie Renee is the daughter of my best friend and Sophia Maria is the daughter of an old family friend. Sophie Renee's mother, Valerie, (I think it's cute they both have French names; her mother's name was Renee as well) says that certain people just keep harping that the name is, 'so popular, OMG, whatever will you do??'. So friggin' what? I do think some names are a little overdone and some just need to die, but I think Sophie is cute. :)

I think I might've mentioned this name here before, eons ago, but I'm not sure. I've really been liking the (nick)name Eliza Cate lately. Eliza is a name I loved during my first pregnancy eight years ago and I hadn't thought about it for a long time, but lately it's been on my mind. I think I would want to use it as a nickname for Elizabeth Catherine. I just don't feel that Elizabeth Catherine flows off the tongue that nicely, though (but would that matter if we mostly use a nickname?). Oh yeah, and it's for my mother Catherine Elizabeth (which flows much more nicely, IMO, but we don't want to just use her name).

Possible sibset would be--

Brenna Rose (our eldest, deceased, so the names wouldn't exactly be used much together)
Patrick Jeremiah (lol, if I have my way!)
Eliza Cate (Elizabeth Catherine)

WDYT?

If Patrick Jeremiah doesn't happen, we'll likely use Edward Jeremiah, Liam Jeremiah, or Liam Edward (we love Liam, unfortunately the overabundance of them where we teach is starting to get on our nerves).

My question-- does anyone know if it's inappropriate (or just plain think it's weird) to name a second son rather than a first son after a father? My husband isn't adamant we use his name, but he is a third and we both almost feel like his name should go on, however it's more important to me (us) to name a son after my brother (and possibly my uncle-- that would be Patrick Jeremiah together). We're still TTC, so obviously this doesn't need to be settled any time soon, and although I wouldn't mind using my husband's name (I don't like it, but I've told him if it's important to him we can) I'd like to name our first son after my brother, just in case that's our only son. I hope we have a few more children, but fertility isn't exactly on my side and I don't want to bank on having two sons.
