hey all! i noticed we haven't had a game in a really long time, so i procrastinated made one up :]

for some unknown reason, you are about to have six kids, three of each gender. great! you think, and sit down to make a list of your top names. but there's a catch: you're hypothetical significant other's family has a lot of weird naming rules that date back for centuries and (for the purposes of the game) you're not one to step on those rules' toes!

FIRST make a list of the top five names for each gender.

THEN click through to see the rules.

if you look at the rules before you have your lists, it won't be as fun ;)  )

My husband and I find out on Thursday if our second bundle of joy is a boy or a girl. We're both totally and utterly set on Harvey, if he's a he. If we're having a girl, we're not sure what we want to name her. Here's the list of names we're considering,...

Nora
Gemma
Eleanor/Elinor
Lydia

Which do you like the best? This baby will be joining big sister Aida (pronounced Ade-uh). I love all these names and would be basically happy with any of them. My husband is absolutely in love with Eleanor so I'm thinking thats probably what we'll go with in the end. Assuming we're even having a little girl, of course.

My last question to you then, is, which spelling of Eleanor/Elinor do you prefer? I think personally I like the way Eleanor looks on its own better, but since we spelled Aida's name Aida instead of Ada, I'm wondering which is the preferred spelling in this case? I kind of like the way Aida & Elinor looks, better than Aida & Eleanor.

Baby's middle name will be Emery Lee/Leigh, regardless of what name we choose or what the sex of the little one is.

Thoughts?

HAHA omg

Just now, I was inspired to look up names that mean laughter. So I went to the advanced search at babynames.com, typed in "laughter" for meaning, and specified girl names. This is (honest to GOD) what came up:

Lol
The meaning of the name Lol is Laughter

The origin of the name Lol is American

Notes: Online acronym for "Laughing Out Loud"
