Just thought I would post an update, since I came here looking for advice so often.

We had our baby boy on Tuesday and decided on the name Felix Xavier.

Looks just like his daddy )

* Xavier is a family name on my boyfriend's side.

How do you writers name your characters? Do you have any specific guidelines you stick to (personality, family history, name trends of birth year, etc.)? Do you name according to your own tastes or what you imagine your characters' parents would have liked? Do you not care and name your characters how you please?

What are your guilty pleasure sibsets?

My cousin gave birth this morning to a little girl, 8 lb 7 oz., named Hollie Halle Leigh S. I thought she'd stay with Pearl. IDK. It's supposed to be "hallelujah", I guess. She is a religious person.

WDYT?

EDIT: It is pronounced "Hallie" I believe, and she chose the spelling as an ode to her maiden/family name (Hale).

I think without the middle name, it goes with the last name.

So my fiance's sister-in-law just had a baby and she used Isabella, which we were going to name our daughther. We're due July 1st and have to think of a new name!!!

What do you think of:
Rebecca Joyce (after our grandmothers)

Or the first name:
Josie (what would be a good middle name?)

From Before....

How about Josie Adelyn?

A friend of a friend recently gave birth to a daughter. The name?

AIDA VALDEEN.

Aida is apparently pronounced like Ida, and they got the name from something the husband saw at Wal-Mart. Seriously. I'm not sure where Valdeen is from; maybe it's something they saw at Home Depot.

Thoughts?

My mom's friend from work just had a baby girl!

Devin Rose

I'm not 100% on the spelling, but I still think it's really pretty. She joins big brothers Brady and Nolan.

I'm trying to add some more boy names to my list. I've come across these recently and wanted some opinions on them:
Cormac
Declan
Gabriel
I babysat a kid named Cormac last weekend and I really liked the name at first but it started to sound weird to me after a whole day of saying it. WDYT? Also - is Declan too trendy? And is Gabriel too old school?
MN suggestions?
Thanks!

Last night, right before falling asleep, a name popped in my mind, which I'm fairly sure I made up. It's Jeah, which could be pronounced both as Gee-ah or Jay-ah or Jeh-ah.
It's a spin-off from one of my nicknames, Jea for Jessica (prn Jeh-ah).

WDYT? Silly? Pretty? pretty silly?

So, I have a new cousin.  His name is Daniel Joseph.  He joins big brother Andrew Connor and big sister Mary Katherine Shannon.
[identity profile] lickystyx.livejournal.com
So, which one?

Caitlin or Kaitlyn  (we really like Katie  Would it look weird to spell it with a 'c' but use Katie?)

and for a middle name?

rose
Fiona
Anne

Any other suggestions?
